UofT students disrupted a colloquium hosted by the Department of Physics featuring a speaker from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, calling on the UofT to end its all ties with HUJI!
Students: “By maintaining partnerships with HUJI, UofT is complicit in genocide.”
.@csa_asc astronaut @Astro_Kutryk has reached space alongside Crew-13! Congrats to team
We saw it launch for a while before the rocket punched through the clouds. Then the rocket landed in front of us and made a very loud sonic boom (my first)

“Truth and reconciliation gets thrown out the window at the point at which Indigenous Peoples criticize Israeli occupation, apartheid, and genocide in Palestine.”
“In social science, we refer to this basic problem as ‘construct validity,’ and it means that a researcher is not properly measuring what it is they are trying to measure. In this case, antisemitism and anti-Zionism are being measured by all examples labelled as antisemitism.” https://t.co/88ZOhvAfrO
Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, which honours those harmed by the so-called "Indian Residential School" system. The IRS was an integral component of the Canada's historic and ongoing genocide against Indigenous Peoples. https://t.co/wVjmEqVSWJ

“Sometimes opportunities can feel distant when you live in such a remote place, and I hoped that sharing my experiences would make those pathways feel more accessible.”

MUN: we need to cut math instructors and a lot of other jobs to balance our budgets.

“The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers has been commissioned to do the work at a cost of nearly $200,000.” https://t.co/RYwpW6oENQ
Another example of the wonderful opportunities our universities offers. Without a comprehensive university, we would be denying these opportunities to our youth, our province, our future.

After my talk today at Signal Hill Nation Historic Site I received the best feedback ever - “I will look at the night sky differently from now on”. Made my day. #Astronomy#Darksky#Space

2nd class of astrophysics done. A fun hour of trying to image and observe the Sun, looking for granulation and sunspots. A good way to finish the week though we were supervised by Prof. Duck. #WeAreMUN#Astrophysics#DucksofMUN
This secondary period is seen in a number of evolved stars and is currently believed to be caused by the presence of a planet-like object orbiting the star. This was a fun project with fantastic students
New paper day!! https://t.co/519MpPkkkx written by Galina Sherren that was their undergraduate honours project. This was an exceptional work that includes research from another undergraduate in the summer after their first-year! #wearemun
In this work they explored the pulsation properties of a small sample of variable red giant stars that had been observed in linear polarization and discovered that V CVn had an ultra-long secondary period in polarization and visual observations.
