It still baffles me how anybody under 36 talks about their country as a beautiful democracy with voting rights as if they’ve forgotten that for the *majority* of their life they have had no right to vote.
my thoughts on today's discourse topic is college students would probably be less inclined to cheat their way through every bit of coursework they can if the american educational system had any respect for children's free time and general desire for control over their own lives
Sort of a very specific reason for youth rights and allowing young people to learn is that the small size of a young person can act as a natural "please be patient with me, I’m learning" indicator that disappears when a person gets older. Like "Student Driver" signs put on cars,
Whereas, if someone is visibly very young and asks a "dumb question" or puts their shopping cart back wrong or doesn’t pay their bus fare or something, strangers are (theoretically) more likely to be patient and helpful.
What if Trump unintentionally became the US's best president for the environment by causing so many plane crashes that people become scared to fly and opt for more environmentally friendly alternatives
@BLawrence70 @BladeoftheS Since you appear to be an expert on this topic, please walk everyone through the reasons why minorities existing would make a difference. Also, if each state has a population small enough for it to work, why that wouldn't imply it could work for a group of states... put together.
