Today we hosted our Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration to recognize and celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. It was an honour to welcome ATCO Chair & CEO Nancy Southern and the Indigenous Advisory Board as we celebrated.
The event highlights included drumming, world champion hoop dancing by Quentin Pipestem and Inuit throat singing by Denise Klengenberg-Bryan.

The Southern Family of Calgary, Alberta transformed a former cattle feedlot into Spruce Meadows, building what would become one of Canada’s most celebrated sport and community destinations.
The Southern Family will receive the Legacy Award on November 4th at the 70th Order of Sport Awards: Legacy Edition. Created to mark the 70th anniversary of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, the Legacy Awards are a commemorative honour celebrating the individuals, families, and organizations whose contributions have helped shape the very fabric of sport—and society—in Canada.
