Ending GBV requires more than responding to cases,it means building systems that make justice accessible and support available when survivors need it most. In her opening remarks, @Jozhane of @UNFPAUganda reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing survivor-centred justice through the integration of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), freedom and access to justice. #SAFERProjectUG

. @Jozhane - Funded by the Government of Austria, the SAFER Project brings together government institutions, civil society, justice actors and development partners to strengthen coordinated responses to gender-based violence (GBV).
#SAFERProjectUG
This collaboration recognises that survivors need more than one intervention. Access to justice, health services and protection must work together.
@UNFPAUganda
. @Jozhane - The launch brings key justice and government institutions together, including:
#SAFERProjectUG
▪️ Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs
▪️ Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development
▪️ Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions
▪️ Uganda Police Force
▪️ Uganda Prisons Service
▪️ Uganda Human Rights Commission
Civil society organisations and Local Council Courts are also part of this effort.
The #SAFERProjectUG launch is officially underway, with @Jozhane, Communications and Resource Mobilisation Specialist at @UNFPAUganda, delivering the opening remarks. #SaferProjectUG
The focus: strengthening access to justice, protecting rights and advancing survivor-centred support for women and girls.
. @Jozhane - The shared responsibility is clear: strengthen collaboration across these institutions so survivors can access justice and receive timely, coordinated and survivor-centred support.
As the #SaferProjectUG programme gets underway, the focus must remain on translating institutional commitments into services that protect survivors, uphold their rights and treat them with dignity.
@UNFPAUganda
No single institution can address survivors’ needs alone.
The #SaferProjectUG convenes together justice actors, government institutions and civil society to strengthen coordinated responses that put survivors’ dignity and rights first.
