Saipol’s site in Verdun: why this acquisition?
In February, Saipol an Avril subsidiary, finalized the acquisition of a rapeseed crushing plant in Verdun. This project strengthens our local footprint and supports the development of French value chains. In this video, Emmanuel Manichon, Chief Growth Officer, Innovation and CSR, explains the rationale behind this operation and the site’s future prospects.
What if innovation were, first and foremost, about daring to try?
At Avril, we foster a culture of agility: experimenting, learning quickly… and turning ideas into concrete solutions.
That’s the spirit behind Darwin, our intrapreneurship program: a unique testing ground where our employees test, challenge, and grow their ideas in a startup-like environment. Once again this year, talented individuals from all our business lines have stepped up to envision the activities of tomorrow.
With support from Schoolab, they’re developing their innovation projects and acquiring new skills… now recognized through certification.
And the most promising project continues on its path to scaling up with Agrilife Studio. Because innovation isn’t just an idea: it’s a collective dynamic, rooted in action.

Test your knowledge on safety during #AvrilSafetyDay – a day dedicated to mobilizing all Avril employees around #safety!
Would you be able to answer this question?
When it comes to working with screens, can you name at least 3 ergonomic rules that help reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)?
Skin cancers: awareness theme for Health & Safety Week 2026.
With 62 industrial sites in France and 20 internationally, safety is a major priority for Avril, embodied each year by a day dedicated to safety: Safety Day. This year’s theme, “My power to act”, encourages employees to become aware of their daily responsibility, as every accident can be prevented.
Three guiding principles:
- Understand our environment
- Decide to work safely
- Act with caution
This year, a Health & Safety Week extends Safety Day. After surveying Avril employees about their health concerns, we decided to make skin cancers the main cause for 2026.
With nearly 250,000 new cases per year in France, it is important to detect skin cancer as early as possible: consult a dermatologist every year, practice self-monitoring, and protect yourself from the sun!
To kick off the week, a webinar was offered to all employees, and several of our subsidiaries are taking this opportunity to offer skin cancer screenings with a dermatologist or a healthcare professional. For example, the teams at Société Bretagne de Conditionnement d’Œufs (SBCO), based in Naizin, have decided to offer screening to 100% of their employees!
Yesterday, the Monceau choir — which meets weekly in our Paris offices, led by choir director Angélique De Bellefon and accompanied on piano by Théo Cartier — performed a selection of well-known hits to celebrate the upcoming #FetedelaMusique.
The choir is open to both beginners and experienced singers alike, and this year, around 40 employees joined to learn how to project their voice, manage their breathing, unwind, or simply relax during their lunch break.
It is also a place of conviviality, where colleagues from finance can mingle with those from marketing, IT, or the agricultural organizations based in the same offices.
A big thank you to those who generously turned this activity into a performance… in front of an enthusiastic audience! @fetemusique
One farming practice. Two supply chains. One additional harvest 🌱
When a farmer harvests camelina or Jetsun, they simultaneously produce:
➡️ Vegetable oil processed into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), to decarbonise aviation
➡️ Protein-rich meal for animal feed, supporting protein sovereignty
This dual end-use reflects Saipol's concrete commitment since 2018: supporting the gradual scale-up of volumes to build a supply chain that bridges the energy transition and food independence, without setting the two against each other.
That is exactly what @Saipol_officiel is doing, alongside farmers and partner grain collectors: advancing campaign by campaign, step by step 🌾

InnoTech Analytics Day (ITAD): accelerating analytical innovation at Avril!
Day after day, analyses are carried out across all our plants, R&D centers and Innolabs. They help ensure the quality of our products, eliminate any risk to consumer health, and also drive the performance of our production - maximizing the value of agricultural raw materials while reducing losses and waste. #ServingTheEarth
On June 3, Avril’s analytical innovation community launched the first edition of ITAD, a day dedicated to improving the measurement of physico-chemical and microbiological parameters of our production. The event brought together internal laboratories, production managers, and Avril partners such as Artemis and @ITERG
The day gathered:
🔬 10 innovative suppliers
👥 70 Avril employees and colleagues from its subsidiaries
They worked on three key topics:
• In situ analysis: carrying out measurements directly in the field, for example in agricultural settings
• Microbiology: identifying and quantifying microorganisms to ensure product quality and safety
• Online analysis: integrating measurement devices directly into production lines to continuously monitor optimal performance
Pitches on breakthrough technologies, direct exchanges, demonstrations… many ideas have already emerged! The next step is to structure, prioritize, and turn these opportunities into concrete projects across our subsidiaries.
🙏 A big thank you to all solution providers for the quality of their contributions, their availability, and their role in making this day a success.

✈️ The European ReFuelEU regulation sets an ambitious trajectory for scaling up sustainable fuels in aviation: 2% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blended into jet fuel by 2025, 6% by 2030, and 70% by 2050.
These SAFs must be produced in Europe, without competing with food crops. Reaching these volumes will require mobilising a complementary mix of sources, and intermediate crops have a role to play.
Agriculture has an answer to this challenge. And it grows between two main crops, in 90 days, without requiring additional land.
Since 2018, @Saipol_officiel has been structuring two harvestable intermediate crop supply chains:
👉 Camelina
👉 Jetsun : sunflower varieties selected for their early maturity
Each harvest produces vegetable oil to be processed into biofuels, and protein-rich meal for animal feed.

Ready for your intermediate crop to take off? ✈️
Jetsun is the harvestable oilseed intermediate crop @Saipol_officiel offers to farmers.
A sunflower variety selected for early maturity, grown in 90 days, sown after harvest, producing an oil used to manufacture Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
And there's more:
👉 The oil is processed into SAF to decarbonise aviation, while the meal from crushing is used in animal feed, contributing to protein sovereignty
👉 Zero competition with existing food crops
👉 A structured supply chain, an attractive price, and close support from local grain collectors on the ground

📢 Have you heard of camelina?
@Saipol_officiel has launched a dedicated web series to explain everything about this intermediate crop, from establishment to harvest, including its agronomic and economic benefits.
Camelina in a nutshell:
➡️ A crop that completes its full cycle in 90 days, sown in June and harvested in autumn
➡️ A cover crop that protects and nourishes the soil
➡️ An additional source of income for farmers
➡️ A protein-rich meal for animal feed
➡️ An oil destined notably for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
Saipol has been supporting the scale-up of this supply chain since 2018, over 8 years of expertise and farmer support, in service of decarbonisation 👏

Avril announces the signing of an agreement with the French State to invest an additional €70 million in the capital of Eurolysine, jointly owned by Avril (55%) and @Bpifrance (45%). Impacted by unfair competition from China, #Eurolysine has been facing significant economic difficulties for several months. This new #investment will ensure business continuity and support ongoing efforts in France and Europe to put an end to China’s anti-competitive practices and restore the company’s competitiveness. Avril’s management emphasized the urgency of the procedures currently under review, both for the future of Eurolysine and for French and European #sovereignty.

In one month, farmers across France will be sowing intermediate crops for aviation. But what does that actually mean?
Today, @Saipol_officiel is structuring two harvestable intermediate crop supply chains:
👉 Camelina
👉 Jetsun
The principle? In just 90 days, between two main crops, farmers produce an additional harvest, without bringing new land into production and without competing with food crops.
This is developed in close collaboration with grain collectors, who are essential partners for deployment across regions. And because some of these crops, like camelina, are still relatively new in France, we also work with seed companies to develop adapted varieties, and, for sunflower, increasingly early-maturing ones.
The added benefit: these intermediate crops help improve soil cover and resilience, while enhancing biodiversity, particularly for pollinators 🐝
And there's more. They also serve as a raw material raw material for producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (#SAF), contributing to the decarbonisation of one of the hardest-to-abate sectors ✈️
This is the agriculture of tomorrow: more agile, more profitable, and rooted in local territories 🌱

Decarbonizing our activities does not rely on a single solution, but on collective mobilization and concrete action. At Avril, this transformation is built every day across our plants, procurement, supply chain and agricultural sectors. It brings the entire Group together around one shared objective: reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 across scopes 1, 2 and 3.
In 2025, several major milestones were achieved:
- rollout of the EOS GreenPath program across our most energy-intensive sites,
- investments in biomass and renewable electricity,
- integration of carbon criteria into procurement decisions,
- acceleration of low-carbon transportation solutions such as Oleo100.
This momentum demonstrates that an effective transition relies above all on concrete, measurable and collective actions carried out together with our employees, customers and suppliers.
