It took 10 tries, but Sami Zayn FINALLY wins a World championship. Six months ago he was treading water. It's amazing what a simple character change can do for someone. #WWENOC
RIP and respect for the original Nature Boy, Buddy Rogers, who passed away on this date in Pro Wrestling History, June 26th, 1992 at the age of 71. Widely regarded as one of the greatest heels of the early television era, Rogers popularized the arrogant, flamboyant “Nature Boy” persona in the 1950s with his bleached blonde hair, robes, and cocky strut. He was the first WWWF World Champion (winning the title from Antonino Rocca in 1963) and had a legendary rivalry with Lou Thesz for the NWA World Title.
His influence extended far beyond his own career — Ric Flair openly modeled his own “Nature Boy” gimmick after Rogers, including the nickname, style, and even the Figure-Four Leglock. Rogers was a pioneer in blending athleticism with psychology and charisma, helping shape modern wrestling entertainment. A true trendsetter and one of the most copied performers in wrestling history.
To follow up on this, the problem isn’t fun. It’s the selective use of “don’t take it too seriously”. WWE wants fans to treat titles, records, returns and WrestleMania moments like history when it suits. When those same fans criticise the booking, suddenly it’s only entertainment
Man, you should never talk like that. It comes across desperate. You're saying quit having an opinion on our product. You want people to spend hundreds of dollars on tickets but also say don't take it seriously. If they didn't take it seriously, they sure aren't spending that kind of money on tickets.
