This #HRC62, AWID delivered a statement on the Council's Annual Panel on the adverse impacts of climate change on human rights, focused on actionable pathways for climate financing. A human rights-based approach to climate finance must resource feminist economic alternatives.
🚨🇻🇪 Two earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, killing at least 164 people and injuring nearly 1,000. This disaster is compounding a complex humanitarian emergency years in the making. International aid must flow freely to all affected communities. (1/2)

Dear community: AWID will take an organization-wide break from 08 June 2026 to 12 June 2026 . This is part of AWID’s commitment to collective wellbeing and care. We believe deeply in the power of rest, and this week offers us all a chance to pause, recharge, and return renewed.

Ahead of the 5th Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy in Madrid, our Co-ED, Faye Macheke convened with feminist and women’s rights organizations at the #CivilSocietyForum challenging whether feminist foreign policy funding systems genuinely support movements.
Citing our 2024 #WITM report, Faye reminded everyone of the reality that 60% of feminist groups feel pressured to align with funders’ political strategies, while 90% report insufficient funding for their movement agendas.

Technology-facilitated GBV has expanded violence against women and girls across borders, time zones, and into spaces that once felt safe.
From coordinated harassment and cyberstalking to sextortion, doxxing, deepfakes, and online attacks targeting women human rights defenders, TFGBV is rapidly becoming one of the biggest feminist and human rights challenges of our time.

We condemn heavy deployment of military, & disproportionate use of Armed force, surveillance into residents before & during eviction in demolition areas & in holding centers to silence dissent & demoralize community resistance to make process "peaceful" amounts to state violence.
We stand against government's forced & unlawful evictions and demolitions of slums and squatters settlements in valley and throughout Nepal. Direct attack on their housing amounts to a violation of their rights to Dignified life & and other human rights.

Change starts with how we respond.
Violence and injustice are not only shaped by institutions, but also by the attitudes, actions, and silence within our communities. Families, leaders, and society all have a role to play in creating safer spaces and demanding accountability.
