It’s imperative that we revert to STANDARD, not Daylight time, for two reasons, one of which you may have never considered.

You know the first: solar noon is closest to 12 o’clock all year. That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day.

This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm.

The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone.

A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time.

Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans.

We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all.

Fix the time zones and affix standard time.

The largest misunderstanding when it comes to GOP strategy is the idea that they care about winning elections. They are fighting to keep control of their party, and they are losing. They will eagerly surrender control of Congress if it stops the populist element that is emerging

I don’t know who is advising congressional Republicans on strategy right now, but it is whoever it is has an IQ barely approaching room temperature.

Republicans right now have no accomplishments, no plans, and no vision. Why on earth would anyone be excited to go vote for them 12 months right now?

Trump needs to ditch the foreign policy crap and focus all his attention on the domestic economy, which is still not working for the majority of people. Right now he looks weak and rudderless. Be mad all you want, but it’s the truth.

Newly minted college grads can’t find work and are saddled with debt. Where is their path to the American dream right now? Who is giving them a vision of a future worth fighting for?

You cannot have a viable country or future when half your country and all its young people are locked out of the economy and locked out of ever owning a home or much of anything beyond next month’s streaming subscription.

Does anyone in Washington care about this? Anyone at all?

Republicans had better wake up, because right now their nightmare is only beginning if they don’t start making massive changes.

Emotion, properly ordered to reason, is good. Anger is a healthy response to evil. Outrageous evil generates outrage in the well-ordered soul.

Training yourself to not feel emotional to events that should cause great emotion is a kind of spiritual suicide.

In John 1, Jesus is identified as the Logos (logic, order, ground of reality).

Satan is not so powerful as to be the Pathos (emotion), but it is well accepted that he works primarily on the Pathos.

Matthew 4 is about Jesus being tempted by that Pathos and prevailing.

Lessons here:

Do not let yourself be led around by your emotions, especially when they are high.

Logos, truth, Christ; these are what defeat the temptations of Pathos and thwart Satan.
