📢 Official Announcement

We conducted OTC transactions through several brokers in preparation for new exchange listings and upcoming game launches.
These trades were executed using the escrow platform Airswap. 🔒🤝
However, the OTC broker involved in this case created a fake USDT token (a self-issued ERC-20 token using the exact same ticker as USDT) and attempted to deceive our foundation. ⚠️💰

🔍 What Happened

1) First small test (100 USDT)
The broker claimed that the funds were delayed. Later, 100 USDT arrived in our wallet.
Unfortunately, our staff only checked the deposit amount and did not verify the sender.
We later confirmed that the small USDT transfer came from MEXC, not from the scammer. 🕵️‍♂️

2) Second small test (1,000 USDT)
The scammer sent fake USDT through Airswap.
The real USDT never arrived.
Our transferred 292,260 MMON was immediately moved into a MEXC wallet. 🚨📉

After we reported the incident, the MEXC risk team responded immediately and froze the account that received the stolen tokens.
Their quick action prevented additional damage.

It was only a very small test amount, and the scam was detected and blocked immediately.
