On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of @TheOPECFund, and as a reflection of the long-standing journey of cooperation and development partnership over the years between the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the OPEC Fund for International Development, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Khalil Al-Musaibih, President of the Bank, presented a commemorative shield to H.E. Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, in celebration of this historic occasion and in appreciation of the distinguished institutional relationship between the two organizations in supporting sustainable development and enhancing development impact in partner countries.

[BADEA Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa @badeabank]

A delegation from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), led by H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of the Bank, participated in a number of high-level meetings and engagements in Vienna as part of the OPEC Fund Development Forum 2026.

In this context, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of BADEA, signed a financing agreement with H.E. Mr. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Minister of Finance and Development Planning of the Republic of Liberia, for the financing of the Salayea–Konia Road Development Project.

The project will be financed through a USD 30 million loan to support the construction of a 50-kilometre section of the Salayea–Konia Road, which forms part of the 274-kilometre Gbarnga–Konia–Mendikorma Corridor.

The project is expected to enhance regional connectivity, improve access to markets and essential services, facilitate trade and mobility, and contribute to economic and social development in the project areas.

The agreement reflects BADEA’s continued commitment to supporting Liberia’s development priorities and fostering sustainable economic growth through investment in high-impact infrastructure projects.

The Forum serves as a leading global platform for advancing dialogue on sustainable development priorities, exchanging knowledge and expertise, and exploring opportunities for cooperation and innovative partnerships that contribute to economic growth and inclusive development in developing countries, particularly across Africa.

BADEA’s participation also provided an opportunity to strengthen engagement with African countries, development partners, and international financial institutions, while highlighting the Bank’s role and efforts in supporting sustainable economic and social development across the African continent.

A delegation from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), led by H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of the Bank, participated in a series of high-level meetings and engagements in Vienna on the sidelines of the 2026 OPEC Fund Development Forum.

As part of these engagements, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh met with H.E. Mr. Anatole Collinet Makosso, Prime Minister and Head of Government of the Republic of the Congo, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Jean-Jacques Bouya, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Coordination, Development Infrastructure and Territorial Planning; H.E. Mr. Steve Simplice Onanga, Minister of Hydrocarbons; and H.E. Mr. Denis-Christel Sassou N’Guesso, Minister of International Cooperation and the Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships.

The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the President of BADEA’s recent visit to the Republic of the Congo and reaffirmed the strong partnership between BADEA and the Congolese Government. Discussions also highlighted progress made on a number of joint initiatives, including the Corniche Road Project, which was recently approved for financing and is expected to enhance urban mobility and strengthen transport infrastructure.

The Congolese side further presented a number of priority projects for which the Government is seeking financing through the institutions of the Arab Coordination Group. Key projects include the Congo Hydropower Corridor Project, the Ammonia and Urea Industrial Complex Project in Pointe-Noire, as well as several other strategic development initiatives.

For his part, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh reaffirmed BADEA’s commitment to supporting these important development projects and to working closely with the institutions of the Arab Coordination Group and the African Development Bank to assess these initiatives and explore appropriate avenues for financing and implementation.

Both sides underscored the importance of continued coordination and cooperation to accelerate the implementation of strategic projects and advance sustainable economic development in the Republic of the Congo.

As part of these engagements, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of BADEA, met with Mr. Thierno-Habib Hann, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shelter Afrique Development Bank (ShafDB), to discuss prospects for strengthening institutional cooperation and further developing the partnership between the two institutions.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the capital increase process supported by BADEA. Mr. Hann provided an update on the progress achieved in implementing the capital increase and its impact on enhancing the Bank’s capacity to expand its development activities across Africa.

The two sides also discussed ways to build on this cooperation and strengthen the partnership between their institutions, including exploring new financing opportunities and areas for joint collaboration in sectors of mutual interest.

Both parties underscored the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to support initiatives that contribute to the development of the housing and urban infrastructure sectors, promote sustainable development, and improve quality of life across African countries.

A Delegation from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), led by H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of the Bank, participated in a series of high-level meetings and engagements in Vienna as part of the 2026 OPEC Fund Development Forum.

As part of these engagements, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh and H.E. Mr. Iván Bacale Ebé Molina, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, held a meeting to discuss ways of strengthening development cooperation and supporting the country’s strategic priorities.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the existing cooperation between the two sides and BADEA’s project portfolio in the country, including its support for the new administrative capital project, Ciudad de la Paz. Discussions also explored future cooperation opportunities in the areas of social housing, urban roads, water and waste management, social and public infrastructure, and the development of agro-industrial complexes.

The two sides further discussed opportunities to mobilize financing from institutions of the Arab Coordination Group to support the implementation of strategic projects in Ciudad de la Paz, contributing to sustainable development and the achievement of national development objectives.

H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh reaffirmed BADEA’s commitment to continuing its support for Equatorial Guinea’s development priorities and to working closely with the Government and development partners to implement projects with sustainable development impact that promote economic growth and improve quality of life.

On the sidelines of meetings with development partners, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh met with Mrs. Laura Frigenti, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), where discussions focused on the SMARTED Initiative, which is being implemented through a partnership between the Global Partnership for Education and members of the Arab Coordination Group.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved during the first phase of the initiative and discussed the next steps related to its second phase. H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh reaffirmed BADEA’s readiness to participate in the second phase of the initiative, highlighting the Bank’s commitment to considering projects submitted by eligible beneficiary countries in line with the programme’s objectives.

The meeting also underscored the importance of continued cooperation among development institutions and relevant partners to support education and strengthen human capital development across the African continent.

As part of these engagements, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of BADEA, met with H.E. Mrs. Selma Haddadi, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation and advancing the strategic partnership between BADEA and the African Union.

The meeting reviewed the existing areas of cooperation between the two institutions and explored opportunities to further develop their institutional partnership in support of Africa’s development and integration priorities.

The two sides also discussed ongoing preparations for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BADEA and the African Union, which is expected to be signed in the near future. The MoU will provide a framework for enhanced cooperation, stronger coordination, and expanded areas of collaboration between the two institutions.

Discussions further covered a number of initiatives and operations that BADEA could support in alignment with the African Union’s efforts to advance the Sustainable Development Goals and promote economic and social integration across the continent.

Both parties underscored the importance of continued coordination and joint action to maximize the impact of development programmes and initiatives and to support sustainable development efforts across African countries.

Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of BADEA, met with Mrs. Deemah Al Yahya, Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation and exploring opportunities to develop initiatives and projects that support digital transformation and sustainable development across African countries.

The two sides emphasized the importance of building on the complementary strengths of their institutions to develop impactful interventions that foster innovation, advance digital transformation, and contribute to the achievement of development goals.

The meeting also resulted in an agreement to identify a pioneering country for the launch of a joint initiative that would serve as a model for cooperation between BADEA and the DCO, while demonstrating the potential of digital technologies to support economic and social development.

In this context, both parties agreed to task their technical teams with continuing joint work on the development of the proposed initiative, including the design of its components and implementation mechanisms, in preparation for its launch in the coming period.

The discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between BADEA and the NSIA Banking Group and to explore new partnership opportunities that would support economic development and enhance financial inclusion across African countries.

The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration in support of the private sector, leveraging the expertise and capabilities of both parties to expand financing for enterprises and businesses, thereby fostering economic growth and contributing to job creation.

Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue through specialized technical meetings to further examine potential areas of cooperation, particularly those related to private sector development and the promotion of investment across the African continent.

The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration on initiatives aimed at promoting regional integration, supporting trade, investment, and knowledge exchange between Arab and African countries.

As part of these engagements, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of BADEA, met with Eng. Ibrahim Al-Turki, Secretary-General of the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI), to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual environmental and development interest.

During the meeting, representatives of the Initiative provided an overview of its objectives, programmes, and areas of work, with a particular focus on efforts aimed at addressing environmental challenges and promoting the sustainable management of natural resources.

The Initiative also expressed its interest in developing an institutional partnership with BADEA and exploring opportunities for co-financing projects, particularly in areas related to combating land degradation and advancing environmental sustainability.

For its part, BADEA welcomed the prospect of cooperation, and both sides emphasized the importance of continued technical coordination to explore opportunities for joint collaboration. The discussions also covered the potential development of trilateral partnerships involving BADEA, the Middle East Green Initiative, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to support sustainable development projects across African countries.

A Delegation from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), led by H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of the Bank, participated in a series of high-level meetings and engagements in Vienna as part of the 2026 OPEC Fund Development Forum.

As part of these engagements, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh, President of BADEA, met with H.E. Mr. Marc Mandaba, Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, and H.E. Mr. Hervé Ndoba, Minister of Finance and Budget of the Central African Republic, to discuss ways of strengthening development cooperation and supporting the country’s development priorities.

During the meeting, the Minister of Economy presented a number of priority projects that the Government seeks to implement, including a regional transport corridor development project and a human capital development project, both of which are considered key initiatives for advancing economic and social development in the Central African Republic.

Discussions also covered energy projects being developed by the Government under the Mission 300 (M300) initiative, which aims to expand access to electricity and strengthen energy infrastructure.

In the area of trade finance, the Government expressed its interest in enhancing cooperation with BADEA and benefiting from its financing instruments and services. The Government also indicated that it will soon provide BADEA with a list of its priority projects and development needs.

For his part, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Musaibeeh reaffirmed BADEA’s readiness to review these priorities upon receipt and to work closely with the Government to identify areas of cooperation that support the development agenda of the Central African Republic and contribute to sustainable development.

شارك وفد المصرف العربي للتنمية الاقتصادية في إفريقيا (BADEA) برئاسة عبدالله خليل المصيبيح في عدد من الاجتماعات واللقاءات رفيعة المستوى في فيينا، وذلك على هامش فعاليات منتدى صندوق الأوبك للتنمية الدولية 2026.

وفي هذا الإطار، وقّع سعادة الأستاذ عبدالله خليل المصيبيح، رئيس المصرف، اتفاقية تمويل مع معالي السيد/ أوغسطين كبيهي نغافوان، وزير المالية والتخطيط التنموي في ليبيريا، لتمويل مشروع تطوير طريق سالايا – كونيا.

ويُموَّل المشروع من خلال قرض بقيمة 30 مليون دولار أمريكي لدعم إنشاء الجزء الممتد بطول 50 كيلومتراً من طريق سالايا – كونيا، والذي يُعد جزءاً من ممر غبارنغا – كونيا – مندكوما البالغ طوله 274 كيلومتراً.

ومن المتوقع أن يسهم المشروع في تعزيز الربط الإقليمي، وتحسين الوصول إلى الأسواق والخدمات الأساسية، وتسهيل حركة التجارة والتنقل، بما يدعم التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية في مناطق المشروع.

وتجسد هذه الاتفاقية التزام المصرف المستمر بدعم أولويات التنمية في ليبيريا، وتعزيز النمو الاقتصادي المستدام من خلال الاستثمار في مشاريع البنية التحتية ذات الأثر التنموي الكبير.

وفي هذا الإطار، التقى سعادة الأستاذ عبدالله خليل المصيبيح، رئيس المصرف العربي للتنمية الاقتصادية في إفريقيا، بمعالي السيدة/ سلمى حدادي، نائبة رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الإفريقي، حيث بحث الجانبان سبل تعزيز التعاون والشراكة الاستراتيجية بين المصرف والاتحاد الإفريقي.

وتناول اللقاء استعراض مسارات التعاون القائمة بين المؤسستين، وبحث آفاق تطوير الشراكة المؤسسية خلال المرحلة المقبلة بما يدعم أولويات التنمية والتكامل على مستوى القارة الإفريقية.

كما ناقش الطرفان الترتيبات الجارية لإعداد مذكرة تفاهم بين المصرف والاتحاد الإفريقي، تمهيداً لتوقيعها قريباً، بما يسهم في تعزيز أطر التعاون والتنسيق المشترك وتوسيع مجالات العمل بين الجانبين.

وشملت المناقشات كذلك عدداً من المبادرات والعمليات التي يمكن للمصرف دعمها بما يساند جهود الاتحاد الإفريقي في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة وتعزيز التكامل الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في القارة.

شارك وفد المصرف العربي للتنمية الاقتصادية في إفريقيا (BADEA) برئاسة سعادة الأستاذ/ عبدالله خليل المصيبيح، رئيس المصرف، في عدد من الاجتماعات واللقاءات رفيعة المستوى في فيينا، ضمن فعاليات منتدى صندوق الأوبك للتنمية الدولية 2026.

وفي هذا الإطار، التقى سعادة الأستاذ/ عبدالله خليل المصيبيح، رئيس المصرف العربي للتنمية الاقتصادية في إفريقيا، بمعالي الدكتورة/ رانيا المشاط، الأمينة التنفيذية للجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا (الإسكوا)، حيث بحث الجانبان سبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك ودعم المبادرات التنموية ذات الاهتمام المتباد��.

وركزت المناقشات على تعزيز مشاركة القطاع الخاص في الدول الأعضاء بالإسكوا للاستفادة من الفرص الاستثمارية والتنموية المتاحة في الدول الإفريقية المستفيدة من عمليات وبرامج المصرف، بما يسهم في توسيع آفاق التعاون الاقتصادي والاستثماري بين الجانبين.

كما تناول اللقاء فرص التعاون في المبادرات الهادفة إلى تعزيز التكامل الإقليمي، بما يدعم التجارة والاستثمار وتبادل الخبرات بين الدول العربية والدول الإفريقية.

وأكد الجانبان أهمية البناء على الأدوار التكاملية للمؤسستين واستكشاف مجالات عملية للتعاون بما يدعم التنمية المستدامة ويعزز الروابط الاقتصادية بين المنطقتين العربية والإفريقية.

وخلال اللقاء، قدم جانب المبادرة عرضاً حول أهدافها وبرامجها ومجالات عملها، مع التركيز على الجهود الرامية إلى مواجهة التحديات البيئية وتعزيز الإدارة المستدامة للموارد الطبيعية.

كما أعربت المبادرة عن اهتمامها بتطوير تعاون مؤسسي مع المصرف واستكشاف فرص للتمويل المشترك للمشاريع، لا سيما في المجالات المرتبطة بمكافحة تدهور الأراضي وتعزيز الاستدامة البيئية.

من جانبه، رحب المصرف بفكرة التعاون، وأكد الجانبان أهمية مواصلة التنسيق على المستوى الفني لاستكشاف فرص التعاون المشترك. كما ناقش الطرفان إمكانية تطوير شراكات ثلاثية تضم المصرف ومبادرة الشرق الأوسط الأخضر والصندوق الدولي للتنمية الزراعية (إيفاد)، لدعم مشاريع تنموية ذات أثر مستدام في الدول الإفريقية.

وركزت المناقشات على سبل تعزيز التعاون بين المصرف ومجموعة NSIA، واستكشاف فرص جديدة للشراكة بما يسهم في دعم التنمية الاقتصادية وتعزيز الشمول المالي في الدول الإفريقية.

كما تناول اللقاء فرص التعاون في مجال دعم القطاع الخاص، والاستفادة من الإمكانات والخبرات المتاحة لدى الجانبين لتوسيع نطاق التمويل الموجه للمؤسسات والشركات، بما يدعم النمو الاقتصادي ويسهم في خلق فرص العمل.

واتفق الجانبان على مواصلة الحوار من خلال اجتماعات فنية متخصصة لدراسة إمكانيات التعاون بشكل أكثر تفصيلاً، لا سيما في المجالات المرتبطة بتنمية القطاع الخاص وتعزيز الاستثمار في ��لقارة الإفريقية.
