@DrJKenton Thank you for hosting! My students were curious as to how this would go. I'm excited to share that it was engaging and definitely a community builder!
HOLY COW! Tonight was the best one of these I've done! I was worried with how many folks are enrolled (n=34) that it might get crazy. Turns out, #CrazyIsIdeal
@jess0301smith@DrJKenton I am the same! I enjoy finding and demonstrating tools that fit our objectives. My older students (seniors) are now finding the confidence to find tools on their own and sharing them to me for use in class! #OneToOneLearning
@DrJKenton Q5- I feel that instructional planning and delivery are my most successful areas within the competencies. I enjoy creating digital tools for my students so that it replaces worksheets. #OneToOneLearning
@DrJKenton I love showing my students new digital tools and apps! My students love when I show them the various ways I would complete a task or meet a learning objective. They love to like ME questions about my learning process! #OneToOneLearning
@DrJKenton A5: I think I am most successful with Leadership. I try to be flexible, reflective, and inquisitive. It's my hopes that in my transparency, students understand that learning is ongoing and can be engaging if they are willing to explore with me! #OneToOneLearning
Q5: Considering the 1:1 device competencies, which do you think you are most successful using? Please start your answer with A5, and include the hashtag #OneToOneLearning
@jordlong22@DrJKenton I agree! Your reflection system inspired me to have students set a goal for everyday. It helps me learn them and their habits. More importantly, it helps them learn themselves and their habits! #OneToOneLearning
@DrJKenton A5: I am most successful with assessment of learning. I include reflection often and I have a diverse bag of tools for assessments. I have lately been using the speed grader function of our LMS to collect data quickly, then using the data to guide instruction #OneToOneLearning
@rhesstowson@DrJKenton Every quarter they complete a self reflection form that needs to be signed by an adult (there is a parent comment section) and then we have a conference to discuss goals moving forward
@DrJKenton A4: Another opportunity is definitely in timeliness of feedback. Grading across various media takes so much time! My students are sometimes left waiting for my feedback. I would rather provide them feedback before they feel they need it. #OneToOneLearning
@DrJKenton A4: I see an opportunity for improvement in relevancy of feedback. My students always want suggestions for improvements on their work. I can correct content, but not always offer suggestions for improvements in their chosen media! #OneToOneLearning
Q4: Considering the 1:1 device competencies, where do you see opportunities for improvement in your own instruction? Please start your answer with A4, and include the hashtag #OneToOneLearning
@EmilyBenz8@DrJKenton I agree! The video option is always a requested favorite when I ask students to demonstrate their knowledge to an audience! #OneToOneLearning
@DrJKenton A3: I think one of the biggest opportunities is allowing students to share their knowledge in multiple formats. Instead of only using pencil and paper, they can create different media projects (videos, slide show, etc.) to show their knowledge. #OnetoOneLearning
A2: I teach most of my classes 100% remote! Many of those are also asynchronous! My biggest challenge is timely grading. #LotsOfGrading#OneToOneLearning
