Quincy Jones was one of the greatest, most influential musicians of all time. Worked with Billie Holiday, Ray Charles at 14, led Sinatra at the Sands, produced Off The Wall, Thriller…his legacy is huge.
I interviewed him a couple of times, was a huge thrill.

‘I’ve got a tune that will knock ’em – knock ’em flat,’ said Elgar of his iconic ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ melody 😌
Land of Hope and Glory has been a staple at the #LNotP for many years, with the words of Arthur Christopher Benson’s poem lent to the central trio section 📝
Parry’s ‘Jerusalem’ has held its place in the second half of the #LNotP since the 1950s.
With powerfully poetic text, a memorable melody, and Elgar’s opulent orchestration, this piece feels equally at home in a liturgical setting and a concert hall.

Another moment from this week’s @bbcdoctorwho prom @bbcproms. I LOVE the attention to detail from Murray Gold & Alastair King - introducing the organ for Sutekh’s theme because it was a pipe organ which summoned Sutekh in the 1975 Pyramids of Mars episodes!!
Mars brings the drama in Holst’s The Planets suite at @royalalberthall tonight.
Performed by @RCMLondon Symphony Orchestra & Chamber Choir and Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra, conducted by @oramsa.
