A scam as old as the PI profession

Ok so this one is interesting!

Here’s what happened. Uber is accusing some personal injury lawyers and doctors of running a scam together. The claim is that the lawyers would send people injured in Uber rides (or claiming to be) to specific doctors.

Those doctors would then do unnecessary treatments or exaggerate the injuries.

Why? So the lawsuits looked way more serious so the lawyers could demand bigger payouts from Uber.

AND NOW a CA judge just said Uber’s case can move forward under RICO (normally used against organized crime rings).

I’m really excited this was able to move forward. I have a feeling this goes pretty deep (and is very very huge).
