Also forcing platforms to give the option of being able to lock my feed to only people I follow is the best law ever. I accept having to see ads cos providing the service isn’t free but I should be able to never have to see the algorithm if I don’t want to.
If TAbbott and the like are concerned it probably means it is effective at protecting people. Apparently there is concern about the word causing harm. But I’m sure by now there is a lot of cases that help define that. Calling it censorship is emotive and misleading.

Sick of hearing the AI companies saying we need to regulate them. Unless it comes as part of of the statement “we are halting any further development of our AI products until regulation is in place and we call upon all other AI companies to do the same”
If AI CEOs seriously believe that AI is a real danger, they should not be spending hundreds of millions of dollars through their super PACs to defeat candidates and members of Congress who want to regulate it.
After landing at Sydney Cove it took the British just 38 years to turn their own drinking water into a sewer. How civilised.
Pauline Hanson reckons Aboriginal people are the most primitive race on Earth because they never invented the wheel.
So let's have a look at some history and see who is really primitive.
In 1788, the First Fleet landed at a freshwater creek called the Tank Stream, clean water looked after by the Gadigal for thousands of years. Governors took a range of measures to protect the stream but none of it worked. By 1826, the colony had to abandon its own water supply because it had become an open sewer. Today it runs under the city as a stormwater drain.
Tens of thousands of years of care to keep that water clean, and 38 years of "civilisation" to destroy it.
At Madjedbebe in Mirarr country, the scientific journal 'Nature' puts people on this continent making ground-edge axes 65,000 years ago. Those axes are the oldest found anywhere on Earth. Somebody standing on this soil invented them.
At Budj Bim in Gunditjmara country there are stone channels, dams and weirs built to farm eels, running for at least 6,600 years. Engineers Australia rates it among the greatest engineering works ever built in this country. It is older than the pyramids and it still works.
65,000 years, and the water was still clean, the soil was still there, and the fish still plentiful. First Nations land management was so advanced that when the British colonists arrived, they didn't even know what they were looking at.
Now let's look at 238 years of Pauline's "civilisation". 100 native species have been wiped out for good, and Australia holds the worst mammal extinction record on the planet. In Queensland alone, hundreds of thousands of hectares of bush are bulldozed every year to run cattle, which is why Australia is the only wealthy country on the world's list of deforestation hotspots.
The rivers are dying, the topsoil is stripped, the reefs are bleached, and the forests are burning. How civilised.
Europe got rich through the export of violence and theft, then built a story afterwards to make the violence sound like progress. Pauline is still regurgitating that story because without it, she is just an ignorant and bitter woman who inherited a stolen country, and is still trying to whitewash history.
Stand with First Nations people against these colonial lies.
Well... It's 9/11 again...when this day pops up every year, I like to put up these interesting facts that usually trigger everybody here, just for my enjoyment.
The first are a set of pictures taken by Jamie McIntyre, who was a CNN reporter at the time, of the Pentagon when it was hit. Conspiracy theorists love to use the Pentagon on 9/11 as a example of it being staged, that no plane wreckage was ever found at the scene. That it was a missile that hit it, and it was impossible for a plane to hit that low. etc. Funny thing is there are quite a few pictures that show plenty of plane wreckage, including documentation of parts with serial numbers, that were scattered all over the front yard of the Pentagon. Jamie McIntyre took a lot of these pictures and was one of the few to stand up to 9/11 deniers for years, making his own personal website and posting them. Of course people still deny it, but most of them refuse to look at the pictures that clearly show these facts so what does that tell you...
Next is a great video done by a little science channel outfit in Italy. They systemically go through the NIST data that was presented on the WTC, and created 3D ANSY models of all the different materials, forces, and structures that were struck and hit. Then model moment by moment how the buildings collapse and exactly why. This includes building 7, with a exact rational of why it fell despite it not being directly struck (spoil alert: Concussion). By the way, this type of modeling is what is done in engineering for modeling all sorts of things. This type of modeling is extremely accurate and is used to simulate forces in preparation of building things like Space X Starship, Bridges, Skyscrapers ect. A luxury we have now that was limited back then.

Facts don't ever go away, no matter how much people want them to. Most of the nonsense you will see on this platform today is made up just to sell you another narrative of conspiracy and suspicion. But objective reality doesn't need to be proven. Its laid bare to us as observers. Of course the problem I think most people have with it is not observing it, but accepting it.🤷♂️
There are still survivors of 9/11 living with what happened that day.
There are still families, friends and loved ones living with the people they lost.
So when you recycle conspiracy claims that were investigated and debunked decades ago, you’re not just spreading nonsense on the internet.
You’re dragging real people back through a tragedy they actually lived.
They deserve better than having their loss turned into content for someone else’s conspiracy obsession.
I’ve made many posts over the years addressing the claim that the World Trade Center was brought down by controlled demolition.
For the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I considered doing another one.
Then I realized something: it really doesn’t deserve one.
It deserves a question.
Where is the evidence?
After 25 years, there is still no credible, corroborated evidence that explosives brought down the Twin Towers or WTC 7.
No recovered detonators. No demonstrated charges. No firing system, wired or wireless. No blast sequence matching the structural failures. No pre-collapse seismic signature of the enormous explosions that would have been required.
And no recorded sequence of the extraordinarily loud demolition blasts that would accompany the explosive severing of major structural columns.
People heard bangs, crashes and explosions that day. Of course they did. These were burning, catastrophically damaged skyscrapers filled with failing floors, electrical equipment, elevators, fuel, glass and collapsing structural components.
What was never captured was the characteristic sequence of enormous demolition blasts immediately preceding collapse. For WTC 7, investigators calculated that even the smallest charge capable of failing the critical column would have produced 130-140 decibels half a mile away. Nothing like that appears on the recordings.
Attempts to rescue the theory with things like “nano-thermite” don’t survive scrutiny either. Thermite is not a magical silent building eraser. Using it to disable massive structural members would require large quantities of material placed directly against critical columns, held in effective contact, ignited in a coordinated fashion and somehow installed throughout occupied buildings without anyone noticing.
Where is the evidence that happened?
There isn’t any.
And the actual history of the plot points somewhere else entirely.
Ramzi Yousef tried explosives against the World Trade Center in 1993. The truck bomb killed six people and injured more than 1,000, but his larger objective - bringing the towers down - failed.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the principal architect of the 9/11 plot, later said the 1993 bombing taught him that bombs and explosives could be problematic. He pursued a very different idea: hijack commercial airliners and turn the aircraft themselves into weapons.
That is exactly what happened.
And the men who did it told us how and why.
The physical evidence matches that history. Aircraft impacts caused massive structural damage and stripped fireproofing from steel. Multi-floor fires weakened the remaining structure. Floors sagged, perimeter columns were pulled inward, and collapse initiated where the aircraft damage and fires were concentrated before progressing downward.
WTC 7 was struck by debris, suffered major damage and burned uncontrolled for hours before progressive structural failures brought it down.
So 25 years later, the controlled-demolition theory still has the same fatal problem:
Where is the evidence?
Not “it looked like one.” Not a dust cloud. Not an isolated bang. Not a YouTube montage. Not a chemical ingredient that can also be found in ordinary building materials.
Evidence of an actual demolition operation.
Charges. Detonators. A firing system. Preparation. Blast signatures. Physical remains. Documentation. Participants.
Something.
After a quarter century, it still isn’t there.
And on an anniversary like this, that matters.
Nearly 3,000 real people were murdered. Thousands more were injured, traumatized or lost someone they loved.
Turning their deaths into an endlessly recycled conspiracy fantasy 25 years later is not skepticism.
It is insulting.
This is breathtaking- “Sydney reshaped: Thousands of locals leave amid record migrant influx - Daily Telegraph” check the pics I rekon all the metro commuters are born in this country. Also problem was due to rail issues not caused by migrants. https://t.co/CZqk81WtH9
Australia is almost exactly the size of the contiguous United States: about 7.7 million square km against 8.1 million for the lower 48. Yet it holds just 27 million people, fewer than Texas.
@RobbieBarwick How dare people be paid wages here.
If anything, we should demand more homelessness and charge people rent for the privilege of not having a house.
