ICYMI, meet Encrypted Spaces, a @TheLabBKC project developed in close collaboration with @MSFTResearch.

As its ASML principal investigator @notjamesmickens explains, the project “allows users to access the benefits of cloud-based services (e.g., always-available data and cross-device syncing) without forcing them to reveal sensitive information to people outside of trusted groups.” 🔏

BKC’s @TheLabBKC is thrilled to launch Encrypted Spaces, an open-source architecture for collaboration tools, enabling servers to store, inspect, and process only the data that we choose.

Encrypted Spaces has been developed in close collaboration with @MSFTResearch Cryptography and Security group, and currently seeks external feedback that could shape the future of this new technology.

BKC is pleased to share “Mapping the Burden: Toward Survivor-Centered Reporting Systems and Policies for Non-Consensual Intimate Images”, a new white paper from @TheLabBKC co-authored by Grace Harlan, Alice Jo, and advisor Cailin Crockett.

The paper analyzes NCII reporting interfaces and policies of seven major online platforms, and calls for structural reforms to mitigate the burden placed on survivors.
