Food vendors were sensitised on maintaining proper hygiene, wearing head caps, avoiding synthetic food colours, and following safe food storage and handling practices. Such food safety inspections will continue across Bhubaneswar to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.

A median gap-filling plantation initiative was carried out at Nilakantha Nagar, Nayapalli, in the presence of BMC Additional Commissioner, Local Corporator, Deputy Commissioner (Environment), BVG Senior Manager, BVG staff and BMC team.
The plantation covered the 1.72 km stretch from CRP to DAV Road, with 300 Bougainvillea plants planted along the median.

BMC teams carried out enforcement and clearance measures at multiple locations across Bhubaneswar, addressing unauthorised street vending and encroachments along roads and footpaths at Hatiasuni Road, near Utkal Hospital, near Lingaraj Temple, Jayadev Vihar–Ekamra Kanan Road, and the Rasulgarh area.
A vehicle found obstructing the 200-ft road near Utkal Hospital was also seized and removed.
These measures will continue to keep roads and footpaths clear, facilitate smooth traffic movement, enhance pedestrian safety, and minimise waterlogging by ensuring that critical road and drainage pathways remain unobstructed.

Inspection carried out at various hawkers and retail food establishments in Nilakantha Nagar and Nayapalli on 07.08.2026. Five suspected food samples were collected for analysis. Food business operators were warned to maintain proper sanitation and hygiene as per Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards Act and directed to obtain mandatory FSSAI licence/registration.
Residents affected by flooding along the Gangua Nala have been safely shifted to the Flood Shelter at Pandara School. Necessary arrangements, including food and other essential facilities, have been made to ensure their comfort and well-being.
