BNS is 10 years old today! 🥳🍾🎂

The Bitcoin Name System was created by @muneeb & @ryaneshea, and they launched the ‘OneName‘ app, one of the first ever dApps where users could register and manage their BNS names. 🫶

The BNS names and their associated information were stored on the @Namecoin blockchain as a ‘u/’ namespace.

The first name believed to be registered was ‘u/ryan’ upon the launch of BNS on 24th February 2014.

The STX Watch BETA will be released on December 7th.

The Alpha release had a few bugs that need to be taken care of. We are also working on a better UI/UX and a few more important datapoints, such as staked balances, liquidity pools and more.

For 2026 and the final release we will be working on real time notifications of followed wallets, an official smartphone APP, emergency notifications in case your wallet is compromised, exclusive premium features for professionals and much more.
