@azjd Jeff - come see me. That’s exactly where I moved! South of Benson. 10 acre farm. 6 crazy goats, 5 goofy ducks, and 3 Bantam chickens. And about 25 vineyards in a 25-mile radius. Great place to chill.
Pleased by the discussion my piece in today’s NYT (https://t.co/v8olp0H5WG) is stirring up, but wincing at the misleading click-bait headline. I don’t want all students to get A’s! (I want them to be free of grades.) Gist of the essay is that excellence isn’t inherently scarce
Congratulations - Federal Programs graduates from CHS and Hamilton!! Thank you to @CusdMigrant@wjnance23@als1723 for helping celebrate our future student community leaders.
Re-learning/Re-do’s are among the most most preparatory and maturing things we can facilitate with our students that effectively prepares them for their future professions. (Part 1)
At ASU Yesterday STEM Conference for CUSD ELL/ELD students and sponsored by ASU MAES. We are SSPF and truly changing lives. So happy that Willis Jr. High, Chandler High and Hamilton High ELL & ELD students could join us. 23 Willis Jr. students attended our STEM conference.
A2. Start a staff book club to read more children's and YA books. Give attendees copies of the books for their classroom libraries or book clubs. #txlchat
To all CHS ELL & ELD Students, I feel fortunate to have made a difference in your lives & so believe in yourself and you can tackle the hardest of all situations & believe in yourself and you can make the complicated things seem simple. Be great!!!
SSPF's Educator of the Year! Ms. Deb Mitchell, CHS. Teachers change lives. Being the right person at the right time may be enough to change a person's life forever. Having a positive influence in the form of a teacher can make or break a human being. Ms. Mitchell changes lives!
Kathy English, 2019 SSPF Educator of the Year! Teachers are role models. They inspire and encourage us to be great, live to our fullest potential and see the best in ourselves. Kathy English is a role model and someone we admire and someone we aspire to be like.
Look at all those green “Ayes!” ✅ Congratulations to @ArizonaEA, @pauldboyer, @michudall, and all of the dedicated educators across our state that have worked to reduce the 4-hour #ELL block.
Visiting Chandler High and Hamilton Schools ELD Classes. today. Students establishing SSPF Clubs that will focus on community service. Awesome ELD Teachers at CUSD.
@MikeDOstilio@tguskey @mssackstein @cat3y@rickwormeli2@lisa_westman@myrondueck I agree with students being fairly graded and having multiple opportunities to demonstrate learning, but I’m wondering if the titles “educational access” accurately describe what is being shown. This seems more about fairness and accuracy with assessment of learning & grades.
