"We are doomed"? Not if Europe acts
- says our new President @mwitucki in his first interview with @Euronews, where he shares his vision for a stronger, more competitive Europe.

🇪🇺🇧🇷 This week, a delegation led by our DG Markus J. Beyrer, travelled to Brazil to engage with business leaders, policymakers and key stakeholders on the next chapter of #EUBrazil relations.
At this pivotal moment for the #EUMercosur Agreement, the mission aimed to deepen engagement with Brazilian stakeholders, foster a shared understanding of the agreement’s benefits, and ensure companies make good use of the improved market access conditions.
🤝 Meetings included Ambassador Philip Gough (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Tatiana Prazeres (Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade).
We look forward to continuing our close cooperation and turning this historic agreement into tangible opportunities for #businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.
We welcome today's approval by the European Parliament of the modernised EU-Mexico Trade & Cooperation Agreement 🇪🇺🇲🇽
What does it mean for business?
Hear from representatives of @Michelin and @gestamp on the benefits they expect, from greater predictability and a stronger institutional framework to enhanced sustainability cooperation and improved access to critical raw materials.
We welcome the European Parliament’s approval of the revision of EU social security coordination rules.
Having a simple, modern, digital and clear framework facilitating free movement for workers but exempting short-term postings and business trips from prior notification is important for European employers.
Parliament approved a revision of EU social security coordination rules to ensure fair and clear access to social security for EU workers who live or work in another EU country.

Tomorrow, the European Parliament votes on the modernised EU–Mexico Trade & Cooperation Agreement.
The agreement will deepen economic, political and strategic ties while creating new opportunities for businesses on both sides.
"In the current geopolitical context, it is key to diversify our alliances, and Mexico appears like a great opportunity."
@borjagimenezl, MEP and INTA Rapporteur for the EU–Mexico agreement, joined our discussion on the agreement on 24 June. Watch him explain why it matters.
Today, 86 European associations representing key research, development and innovation stakeholders are calling for a bold and ambitious FP10 to strengthen Europe’s productivity and competitiveness.
In a joint declaration on the next EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, we call on EU institutions to:
🔷Secure a significantly increased budget for FP10 and ECF in the next Multiannual Financial Framework;
🔷Strengthen industry-driven collaborative research and public–private partnerships;
🔷Ensure a fully integrated innovation continuum, from fundamental research to deployment and scale-up, aligned with Europe’s strategic priorities.
The next MFF will determine whether Europe retains the RD&I firepower to compete globally or falls further behind.
We stand ready to work with EU institutions for an FP10 that delivers.

European employers fully support the objectives of reducing poverty and strengthening the enforcement of existing legislation to better protect workers' rights.
This was a key message from the Vice-Chair of our Social Affairs Committee, Stefania Rossi, at today's informal EPSCO Council meeting in Ireland.
Achieving these objectives requires EU social policies that support job creation and labour market integration.
The future Quality Jobs Act should simplify legal requirements that do not reflect today's business realities.
The upcoming Fair Labour Mobility Package should integrate digital tools such as ESSPASS, the A1 certificate and the eDeclaration, enabling companies to submit information related to the free movement of workers only once.
Today, our Director General, Markus J. Beyrer, met with the newly appointed Ambassador of India to the EU, His Excellency Pranay Verma.
The meeting comes at an important moment as the EU and India continue to deepen their strategic partnership.
The recent conclusion of the EU-India FTA negotiations provides a unique opportunity to advance a cooperative model rooted in rules-based trade, mutual trust and shared prosperity.
In the current geoeconomic context, a swift ratification and effective implementation of the agreement will be essential to ensure that businesses on both sides can quickly benefit from the opportunities it creates.
BusinessEurope strongly supports the EU-India FTA as a cornerstone of the EU's diversification strategy and a key step towards enhancing the competitiveness of European companies.
Congratulations to Vidmantas Janulevičius on being elected Vice President of @BusinessEurope. This appointment recognizes his leadership and highlights the growing role of Lithuanian industry in shaping Europe’s economic future. Wishing him every success in this important role.
A valuable discussion with General Seán Clancy, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, on Europe's preparedness and resilience.
As General Clancy stressed: "Our resilience depends on our society - it is our own responsibility."
We fully share the view that Europe's security depends on its competitiveness, industrial strength and innovation.
Thank you for the excellent exchange - we look forward to continuing our cooperation.
Security & competitiveness go hand in hand!
Today, the Chair of the EU Military Committee (CEUMC) joined @BusinessEurope to discuss Europe’s evolving security landscape. The message was clear: security, resilience, and economic strength are inseparable.
With war in Ukraine, hybrid threats, and global competition, Europe must act now. Defence readiness isn’t just about militaries—it’s about industry, infrastructure, and innovation. The EU’s Preparedness Union Strategy and Defence Readiness 2030 are key to ensuring Europe can deter, defend, and sustain itself in crises.
Businesses play a vital role—from critical infrastructure to supply chain resilience. Public-private cooperation is no longer optional—it’s essential.
Europe’s future security depends on speed, scale, and solidarity. Let’s build a stronger, more competitive, and resilient Europe—together. 🇪🇺 #Security #Defence #EUResilience #BusinessEurope

Last years were the years of reports on competitiveness, now the time for implementation comes. As Europeans, we are proud of our ideas, of our values. But we know that if we are not scaling up, it will not be possible to succeed.
