Just watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day last night, and I genuinely can't put into words how fantastic that film was. Tom Holland delivers one of his best performances yet, and Sadie Sink absolutely crushes her Marvel debut. The cinematography, the hyper-realistic shots... unreal. What a watch.

But after the movie, I kept thinking about Spider-Man as a character. Peter Parker has to be one of the most tragic heroes in cinema. He loses everything, time and time again. The people he loves. His sense of normalcy. His chance at a regular life. Over and over, he's forced to sacrifice more than anyone should ever have to.

Yet we always come back to the same line: "With great power comes great responsibility." And Peter actually lives it out. No matter how hard life hits him, he gets back up. Again. And again. And again.

So I found myself wondering: Where does that kind of resilience even come from? How does someone get knocked down that hard and still choose to keep fighting? Still choose to believe people are worth saving?

Then it hit me.

There, hanging on Spider-Man’s wall, was a Hall of Fame #31 Mike Piazza Mets pennant.

It all made sense.

Because if there's one thing in this world that can teach a kid that level of resilience, heartbreak, perseverance, and irrational hope, it's being a Mets fan.

Peter Parker can keep getting back up, keep saving New York, and keep believing tomorrow will be better... because deep down, he's a Mets fan.
