@Baddiel If we had to use whips to make horses jump, dance and tip toe sideways it would be cruel. Thankfully we don’t have to; horses do all of those things by themselves. Dressage is teaching horses to do those things when we ask them to - creating “buttons” which requires trust.
But it’s really hard to prove this to people who don’t want to know, and even harder when the sport is brought into disrepute. Horses love to move their bodies, they love to learn, they do these things naturally. Training should take years of gradual strengthening & be enjoyed.
I’ve seen the CDJ video and it’s horrid to see and very disappointing; horse abuse is totally wrong. The majority of us love and mollycoddle our horses. I worry that people who don’t know horses/don’t want to understand, will take the below view. It’s not unnatural/disrespectful
Extremely unsurprising that Charlotte Dujardin has been applying abusive ‘errors of judgement’ to get her horses to act this way. Dressage is totally unnatural and disrespectful and shouldn’t be classified as a sport https://t.co/ci9voR7koK
@NathanSpafford_ It’s been a vicarious enjoyment waiting for each tweet as you work your way through Suede albums. Glad they found their way to you, I see many hours of re-listening for you ahead.
My first working day as @ForvisMazarsUK, a new unique global network of just two firms with combined 40,000 staff in more than 100 countries. Loving the celebrations here, there’s a definite party mood in the office today! #WeAreForvisMazars
Sheep falling on their backs happens a lot — and can be fatal. It typically happens to pregnant sheep, more vulnerable to falling over.
If you find a sheep like this, grab a good handful of wool and turn it around. You could save a life of a sheep. 🙏
