Beef Farmers of Ontario (BFO) represents 19,000 farmers by advocating in the areas of sustainability, animal care, environment, food safety & market development
Today, BFO representatives @farmgirlkjb, @desrochersfarm and Jason Reid appeared before the Standing Committee on the Interior in support of Bill 109. The provincial bill proposes improvements to beef licence fee collection, vet access and protections for Ontario farmland. #ontag
Advocating for Ontario’s beef farmers is an important part of BFO’s work.
BFO President Jason and Director Lisa met with Minister @TrevorJonesCKL to discuss the RMP operational cap, the Breeder Loan Program and Mercosur trade concerns.
Thank you, Minister Jones, for your time.
Congratulations to The Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA) 2026 nominee from Ontario, Will and Tara MacArthur.
Growing up on his family's beef farm, Will MacArthur often wondered if there was a better management strategy. Like many livestock operations, the farm followed conventional practices that relied on high inputs and often resulted in tight margins. While these methods were common, Will saw an opportunity to do things differently.
