Plans for Digital ID
Plans to abolish juries (if sentence is ≤3yrs)
Tax hikes while deputy PM caught evading tax
Mayoral elections postponed for no reason
This is turbocharged totalitarianism
Hey @krakenfx
Saw your Krak card. 1% cashback in the form of BTC? Lovely, passive stacking, I thought.
Then tried to put £200 on it as a starter to have a play.
The fee? £7.75. 3.875%.
So I get 1% on £192.25. so I'd need BTC to 4x just to break even.
Smells like a scam.
"Nooo, this idiot has made running my business even harder! Any money I try to make is now taxed even more! Reeves is an idiot!"
The only idiot here is someone who thinks a communist wants you to run a successful private business.
Increasing the minimum wage by more than inflation every year is great.
Those workers will take the money they earn and go spend it with local businesses, thereby boosting the economy.
Don’t listen to naysayers with doom and gloom economic theories that this will cause layoffs and actually make everybody collectively worse off.
Just because this is precisely what happens every time does not mean it will happen this time.
So given the infallible theory that increasing minimum wage as much as possible is obviously great and has no negative repercussions like people on that minimum wage being able to afford less stuff despite the minimum wage increasing…
I propose we go ahead and increase the minimum wage to £1,000 per minute.
It is time for lift everyone out of poverty once and for all. 👍
All this considered, just how astoundingly powerful does the propaganda and the politics of envy have to be to still have a substantial cohort of the British public backing further tax rises?
You know how to spend your money better than the government does.

NAO estimates £55-81B in gvt fraud/error in FY23/24
Guardian reports £3.4B wasted in consultancy spending FY23/24
Approx £15B wasted in covid PPE scandal
£2B wasted cancelling northern leg of HS2
£29.5B wasted on test & trace
£0.5B wasted on NI Renewable Heat Incentive

So, that wastage estimate is way too low. It still means everybody could have their income tax reduced by 37-46% and there would be no affect on public services. None.
For a £30k salary this would mean an extra £1.3-1.6K. For £50k? £2.8-£3.4k.

@Heccles94 Harry, mate, this is very unhealthy.
The fact that you conflate leaving an organisation with losing your God-given rights is very worrisome.
The ECHR never gave you those rights, so leaving it doesn't mean they get taken away.
Hell, it doesn't even uphold half of them anyway.
A really good friend of mine said “I have absolutely no doubt that the Holocaust happened. As soon as someone in my country is jailed for denying it, I will begin to question it.”
Rough day, for him.
