@HansFiene@katrosenfield@crousselle I recall several Voddie Baucham sermons pushing against that very thing. Glad my parents were fine if I married young.
@_BenLee My daughter is going in the fall. It’s tough. We have 3 kids in college now and 8 total so our expected contribution isn’t too high. I don’t know how others make it happen.
The need for and absence of struggle causes so many other problems. People invent problems and causes to war against. Yet, the one true war, against the world, the flesh and the devil, goes unnoticed and untended while many (myself at times) "tilt at whirlwinds" like Don Quixote.
@aarondfrancis A home game for the Gamecocks with them in attendance could be pretty epic. A night game in Death Valley would be dangerous to all involved, but gotta love that as a CFB fan.
@carolynrogers This was just normal life growing up in the 80s/90s. Our house was the sports house and the neighborhood kids would come and knock on our day everyday after school. We did with others too. Not sure anyone thought of it as “inviting ourselves over”.
I think people have to understand that it's literally built into Americans' DNA to believe we can do things others see as impossible.
A bunch of farmers with muskets and no shoes took on the might of King George's empire, and that spirit is still alive in some form today.
@allie__voss I wish we could get to the point where you could discipline them in public and either no one bats an eye or people come and thank you. Instead, they’d call cps.
@5Solas It is an incredibly weak and overused argument. The Scriptures alone are enough to teach us that the office of pastor is not for women. As others have said, there are plenty of men that also misunderstand this.
@CptHastings1916 100% I stop my kid dead in their tracks when they respond like this. As if their annoyance, disgust or attempt to pull someone else in to bolster their case is a legitimate form of reasoning. It's weak, manipulative, and reeks of the fear of man
@HarryStebbings@typesfast Sounds like you have a parenting/boundaries problem. I've worked from for 20 years. Very productive. When I'm working, I'm working. House is in order and everyone recognizes the boundaries.
The world genuinely hates authentic masculinity and good fathers. It makes it all the more satisfying to not care one ounce what they think and just live all out for the Lord.
