Hello, this is BesideKSVN.
Not until today, after the fanday passed, could I gather the courage to sit down and pour out everything I’ve been holding inside. Almost a decade following Krist and Singto have been the most beautiful period of my life. There were times I missed fan meetings in Vietnam, and because of work I couldn’t seen them at every event. Still, my love and waiting for them always burned quietly and steadily.
Everything changed when we founded BesideKSVN, becoming a small part of the whole FCs, contributing and sharing joy with people who love Krist and Singto just as much. I started running more projects, mostly in Vietnam and Thailand. For years I had dreamed of seeing Krist and Singto in the U.S., of making each gift and project by hand to welcome them on a brand-new journey, their first meeting on the other side of the world.
Maybe God heard my prays because they were brought here. The moment the announcement came, I immediately began planning projects with my teammates and the BesideKSVN team in Vietnam. We stayed up until 3 or 4 a.m. for two straight months. From booths, flowers, gifts, cakes, cards, everything was made with all the love we have for Krist and Singto. Sleepless nights waiting for the final files, long days watching for reply emails, everything became a cycle of hope and worry.
We poured our hearts into preparation. Along the way there were unnecessary conflicts with dishonest parties, days when we were utterly exhausted, tears and sweat, moments when we told each other to stop because we felt pulled into a nameless battle. Those conflicts eventually quieted down because our love for Krist and Singto was greater than all of it. Nothing could stop us from continuing the projects, right up until the day before the event.
I think all my luck had been saved for the news that Krist and Singto were coming to the U.S. Everything we had carefully prepared, one thousand hand banners, one thousand keyrings, free gifts, 3D printed items, standee bases, backdrops, posters, were held at U.S. customs, something none of us had expected. One day before the event, we had to run all over LA to find replacements for what was stuck at customs and wouldn’t arrive in time. That Saturday night we returned to the hotel at 3 a.m., tidying and finishing preparations to be ready by 10:30am the next morning, sleeping worried about whether we’d make it, but still encouraging each other that it would be okay.
Maybe our efforts were rewarded. The next morning, from 7 a.m., the whole team was on site working hard until after 11 a.m. We kept setting up for both KS and EM despite issues popping up. We weren’t allowed to hang the large banner in front of the venue, but we found a way, even if it wasn’t perfect. At times, right before the show, it seemed hopeless and we cried out of despair, but thinking of Krist and Singto steadied us; we encouraged each other to finish until the last minute.
I tormented myself night after night for four weeks thinking I was a promise breaker, feeling guilty toward everyone and the team in Vietnam for not completing everything as planned. The video project we worked so hard on, three consecutive days and nights, and the 1,000 hand banners for KS and EM in the secret project were cancelled at the last minute because a third party blocked them. We discussed and agreed not to cut even one second from the video because it was the team’s heart and soul, but I felt crushed and pained that I couldn’t protect the team.
After fans had filled EM and checked in, we had to immediately carry two bouquets weighing 5 to 7 kg each from the venue back to the hotel and then rush out to buy food support for Krist and Singto for Thai fans. Under Glendale’s scorching sun, the two of us ran around everywhere, and luckily we arrived in time with the food, flowers,… and cake prepared for Krist and Singto.
After sending the items, we hurried back to the hotel to prepare for the afternoon performance of Krist and Singto. We barely had time to rest, fans were already lining up to scan tickets. We changed the clothes and showered quickly and asked staff to let us fix the booth with only thirty minutes before the show. We were scanning tickets while fixing the booth so people could check in on time, everything happened in a tense, pressured atmosphere. When the show ended, we couldn’t go rest. The team stayed to clean and pack until 3:30 a.m., then rushed to prepare for departures since everyone had early flights home.
If there is someone in this world who’s truly unlucky, I might think it’s me. I know our projects are tiny compared to what the Fan Clubs has done over the past decade. But to me, they were everything I had, the most beautiful things I could give Krist and Singto in this lifetime. I will never forget the sleepless nights, the longest days of self-blame and then reassurance that I would be okay, and that Krist and Singto would feel the love waiting for them across the hemisphere, vast and beautiful.
But now I still feel heartbroken and tearful thinking about not being able to complete everything as I wished. I feel like I broke my promise to Krist and Singto, to everyone, and to myself.
Then, when I entered the venue and the staff told me Krist really liked our project, and when I heard their thanks with my own ears at the fansign, I realized all the pain, exhaustion, and burnout of the past two months had been worth it. I didn’t want Krist and Singto’s first time in the U.S. to lack the warm welcome from fans. After nearly a decade, I finally saw them here, and I couldn’t let anything or anyone stop me from giving them the most beautiful welcome.
Before the event, I never imagined things would be so different from what I had imagined.
Krist and Singto were more beautiful and perfect than anything I had pictured.
This may not have been the first fan meet I attended, but it was certainly one of the brightest days of my life. Krist and Singto were so beautiful, so special and wonderful beyond my imagination. Krist interacted with me so much that I pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. And P’ Singto was truly beyond words. I was the last person to take a benefit photo as the audience in the front rows had mostly left, before that I had taken two photos but staff told me to go down and circle around before taking more. At that moment it was just me with Krist and Sing for nearly three minutes, with no staff paying attention, just me and them. I told P’ Singto I still had one more photo, and he immediately ran back, pulled Krist and everyone over to take that last benefit photo and thanked me a third time. When I went down to get our things to return to clean the booth, Krist and Singto had passed by and we said goodbye many times.
It felt like a beautiful dream I didn’t want to wake up from. A decade has passed, a decade of love and waiting. I did things I once thought I could never do. Even now, back home, every time I think of that day I get teary, wondering if life will ever bless me with days this beautiful again.
I sincerely thank all the friends who stood by me on this journey, hard but also brilliant. I want to thank the team in Vietnam for always being my emotional support, for helping me no matter how urgent. Thank to @EMandBabyEdin for always beside, and helping me. I want to thank those who came at 8 a.m. to the venue for EM and helped us finish the booths on time, without you we couldn’t have done it. I’m truly happy to know EMKS fans are such good people, I’ll never forget and will always cherish and thank each of you. If possible, please let me know who you are. I’m truly sorry for being too busy and not able to ask your names in time, we owe you.
Thanks to the venue staff and the management of Alex Theatre for supporting us wholeheartedly. From the bottom of my heart I am grateful for everyone’s kindness. I want to thank the temporary staff from GMM who told me Krist really liked our project. In that moment I almost cried, I’m so grateful to you and wish you all good things. I am grateful for every small word of encouragement, they were the motivation that kept me going.
Along with thanks, I want to say sorry. I’m sorry for breaking my promise, I’m sorry for not preparing everything as neatly as I wished. I’m sorry to the team in Vietnam, sorry to the friends who came along for making your LA trip full of running around to finish the project. I apologize for any shortcomings or for causing anyone discomfort.
I am very sorry to Krist and Singto for not being able to do everything I promised. I’m sorry we couldn’t play the video the team put their hearts and souls into. I’m sorry that the first time the two of you came to the U.S. wasn’t as complete as it could have been because of my shortcomings. I also thank Krist and Singto for giving me the chance to meet you both. I’ve realized I’m still small, what I do for you is little, but it’s everything I can give right now. Thank you for letting me complete a welcome project and give the gifts we poured our hearts into for you.
There’s something I’ve never told anyone, not even my family, but I want to share it here. Before planning this project, I told my therapist that I couldn’t see my future beyond September, everything looked black. I kept feeling like I wouldn’t survive until next year. But after that day, after the promise to see each others again that we have made, I found purpose to live again. I felt that I could still do something for someone, and that I was still appreciated. Thank you for becoming my reason to live, Krist and Singto.
I know I have nothing, but I will love KristSingto with everything I have.
Once again, I’m sorry for everything and thank you for always being here. See you again on another beautiful day, wherever it may be, we’ll keep going together for a long time, won’t we?
