Closed vs open solutions: in the short term closed products (@CodeOceanHQ, @GoogleColab, @kaggle) often offer a more integrated UX and more free stuff (GPUs etc). However, that convenience comes with a certain amount of lock-in. 1/n

@choldgraf I think that is it. There are some extensions which don't exist for Theia, but do exist for VS Code. I think "open remote directories as if they were local via ssh" is something that didn't (use to) exist for theia because of licensing (of course)
