Bowling Green, @BGSUFirelands and @TerraCC have expanded their long-standing partnership to establish the Tri-County Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Education Consortium, strengthening prevention, education and support resources for students across northwest Ohio.
The consortium will create a coordinated regional network focused on student well-being, safety and shared prevention and response strategies while engaging campus and communities throughout the region. The work is already underway, with training and learning opportunities focused on interpersonal violence prevention, bystander intervention and trauma-informed care for faculty, staff and students. George Bullerjahn, Ph.D., a renowned microbiologist and Bowling Green emeritus professor, was invited to join 22 of the world's leading researchers in China to develop a global research plan addressing cyanobacterial algal blooms. As one of only three from the U.S. and the only researcher from an Ohio university, Bullerjahn helped create a five-year roadmap to better understand, prevent and manage harmful blooms.

A research idea that began with a Bowling Green geology student could be a winning solution for farmers and the Lake Erie watershed.💧 Working alongside faculty mentors and international collaborators, Bowling Green graduate Mir Md Tasnim Alam '24 developed a system that uses satellite and drone technology to help farmers apply fertilizer more efficiently.
