I was at a hospital yesterday wearing my Big-Ass Sandwiches hoodie. One of the nurses said his friend got one of the last sandos we served, and that he got this tattoo for his birthday. Portland is a small town sometimes. It warms my heart that we made something people loved.

Brian is starting in on book design. This process is teaching us so much. We think you're gonna love it.

Working full-time and writing a book is a juggle, but we really want to put it out in 2026, which is is 10 years since we closed, if you can believe it.

We decided we want our book title to be a little more on the nose (the beauty of it not being done is it can be changed!)

For now we're going with:

Cart Life: The True Stories and Recipes of Iconic Food Cart Big-Ass Sandwiches.

It's coming along! Hoping for end of the year!

We're gathering up recipes, pictures, and contributors for the Big-Ass book. We have a few chapters written and there's lots more to come. We hope to have a draft written by summer and go from there. This is a whole new adventure! Obit by @IanKarmel.

@JennyJohnsonHi5 We put them on it for texture and flavor. Double cooked fries over meat, smothered with cheese sauce and rolled up is something special.

And when you do it right, the craving can only be satisfied with that flavor combo. That was our goal and the response told us we hit it.
