@bswud I love this theory. It makes sense given that the founders emphasized land ownership as the primary path to personal wealth. This provides an important linkage between urban history and domestic economic superstructure.
@matthewstoller White this is notable, we need reporting that highlights trends across major metros (understand those are buried in the article). Rents in some major metros like NYC are still exploding though. Almost no one performs a housing search at a nationwide (or even statewide) scale.
