DAY 144: WHY DO ALL FAITHS OTHER THAN CHRISTIANITY REQUIRE WORKS? [2 of 2] Supposedly Christian religions and cults call Jesus a liar by hanging salvation over their follower’s heads. That’s why cult followers are often scared to death. Cults want full control, so they make up requirements for their followers to reach heaven. Those works are laid onto the shoulders of their followers, making them pursue heaven by their own life of hard work, stress, and donations to the cult. Even then, the anxious followers don’t know if they’ve done enough to reach heaven. They never have assurance of salvation. So to build the cult, followers knock on doors, hand out pamphlets, attend services, abstain from foods the cult says to, and do all tasks the cult leaders tell them to. Unfortunately, it’s often a horrid life where rates of drug and alcohol abuse are high, immorality is way up, and suicide rates are through the roof. Why? As mentioned in a prior part of this book, it’s because of all the legalist requirements the cult uses to scare followers into compliance with cult demands, and it is done by denying Jesus’s free salvation. Contrast that with a faith that relies on the Bible. We have peace knowing we’re saved and nothing can change that, so we’re excited and compelled to share that joy with others. Christ’s love compels us. We’re glad He did it all and we want to serve Him. Who wouldn’t want to, after what Jesus did for us?

DAY 143: WHY DO ALL FAITHS OTHER THAN CHRISTIANITY REQUIRE WORKS? [1 of 2] As you’d expect from God, He was able to have His teaching put into one instruction book for our lives—called the Bible. Because it is from God and other writings are from man, BIBLICAL Christianity is the only faith with no legalistic list of works required to supposedly earn your way to heaven. With all false faiths, don’t you think it’s convenient that you won’t find out until you die whether that money you gave and free labor you provided (to that cult or religion) will even get you to heaven? Then it’s too late to sue them when you end up in hell. And you are so busy trying to get yourself to heaven, and wondering if you will, that you don’t take time to tell others how to get there. Satan loves that mindset. But God wants more than just you and me in heaven. Our main purpose in life is to get saved and then lead others to salvation. This is why Christ delays His second coming. Jesus promises: “He who OVERCOMES . . .I will NEVER blot out his name from the Book of Life.” (Revelation 3:5) John says, “For everyone born of God OVERCOMES the world.” (1 John 5:4) Paul explains being born of God: “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” So, why do all other faiths teach man’s ideas that contradict God’s Word? Catholicism, Islam, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, Mormonism, Scientology, and so on scare their followers, saying they have to work for their own salvation and can lose it at any time.

DAY 141: HOW ACCURATE IS THE BIBLE VERSUS THE BOOK OF MORMON? The Bible is the one and only Word of God. It is absolutely unique and different from any other book from other faiths and belief systems. Think about this: the Bible contains sixty-six different books all put together into one, yet never once does it contradict itself. All sixty-six have a central theme from beginning to end, which points to the Messiah, Jesus Christ. All the information is completely compatible throughout the Old and New Testaments. The Bible had forty authors, over 1500 years, in three languages, on three continents, and written by people with completely different moods, attitudes, and cultural views. Most didn’t know each other. Yet, with over 700,000 words, the entire Bible NEVER ONCE contradicts itself, which certainly shows it has God’s stamp of authority on it. Contrast that with the supposed scriptures of other belief systems like Mormonism, which veers way off the truth, so much so that their books don’t even agree with each other. And each is completely messed up on its own. Their whole doctrine is a train wreck. And why is that? With all due respect, it is because of the old saying, “Like father, like son.” Joseph Smith Jr., the founder of Mormonism, was a lying con artist just like his father was. His family were practicing witches. Smith Jr. took it to another level when he told a big old tall tale that began his new religion, bringing him a load of cash. Ever since, the leadership of Mormonism has been trying their best to cover up the lies. In fact, there have been around 40,000 textual changes from Mormonism’s original written teachings. Christians have caused many of those changes by pointing out the inconsistencies. Of course, that has not helped it become less of a false belief system.
