Yesterday we learned about the history of Mansfield Woodhouse.
We learned all about mining and lots of children talked to their grandparents about it.
Check out these pit overalls, helmets and knee pads inside a mesh pit bag that one child brought in #beyondtheclassroom
We cooked our own pancakes and checked underneath to check if it had browned yet. This is how we checked if it had cooked yet. We evaluated it regularly and noticed that thicker pancakes took longer to cook.
π₯π₯
We also tried different combinations of sweet toppings to decide which flavour combinations we liked the best.
This half term in D&T we will look at receipts for savoury pancakes, try toppings on pancakes and design, make and evaluate our own savoury dish.

Pancake Day
Tomorrow we're going to write instructions about how to make a pancake. We will use imperative verbs such as: whisk, stir, weigh, measure, crack and add to make sure they 'command' the reader. π₯π₯
Bird boxes are finally finished! Please help your child to complete any maintenance on their bird box and PLEASE send some photos of these hung up in your gardens πππ
