@ChrisMartzWX Overall they do a fantastic job, but every so often the SPC/NWS misses a major severe event, like the 2012 Mid Atlantic Derecho, which wasn't forecast so much as nowcast.
Last night a shortwave pirate station called Fleetwood Mac Radio was on 6935 AM at 0100 UTC, playing the best of Fleetwood Mac. Just station and IDs and dead air. No music. Truly the best songs they ever recorded! :) And I just got the QSL this morning:
