AI aside, in general we live in the safest and most peaceful time in human history

other major technologies have also upended industries and disrupted things, but across most of the biggest metrics, human civilization is actually doing okay

child mortality, extreme poverty, violence / war, disease and infection rates, hunger /malnourishment, etc etc have been improving decade after decade.

for AI specifically, I think it has a lot of uses in medicine, especially when paired with capable researchers and doctors for both novel treatments and detection.
