(FYI posting only bc I wrote a public letter to my dad for some reason as a Freshman and I want to do it again now that I’m a Senior. This isn’t for everyone. I just hope this will reach other dads and remind them to embrace their kids and to be there for them. I hope that all these other fellow athletes see my situation and remember to never take their father for granted.

For the fathers out there, if you have time I would love to hear some fatherly advice (for a senior this time) preferably in the comments (or DMs) so that other kids without a dad can see it too. And if you see me or my brothers walking around, tbh, a dad hug, or something nice to hear from another father would be everything.)

Sorry I had to take a moment. So I wrote you a letter my first year of high school remember? Now 3-4 yrs later I’m writing you a letter again, It’s 2026, this is my last year can you believe it? I just wanted to say it’s been a journey. I wish you were here to see how I did. It got kind of shaky after grandpa started declining especially after grandma passed away and we had to move a few times to get Grandpa his heart surgery and kidney but it was too late. 😔I didn’t expect God to take him away🕊️. He’s was doing good but I know the weekly dialysis treatments was hurting him. He’s not in pain but I miss him sm. Losing him recently reminded me of when I had to say goodbye to you. It’s been tough I’m ngl, but I’m back on the field. I told you I wasn’t going to give up.

You know, seeing all the dads in the stands every game wasn’t easy every year no matter how much older I got, so I just made it a routine to close my eyes and imagine you in the stands yelling and smiling and telling me you’re proud of me. Sometimes it worked sometimes I just buried myself in my helmet and take it out on the field tears, sweat, pain and all. I’m gonna make this a year to remember. Oh and guess what, Lil bro is on the same team now that he’s in high school. I can’t believe it. Ik ik I got him. Hes a dawg. But I need him to be better than me so don’t worry. I checked his helmet fitting and I’m always making sure he stays hydrated and ready iron sharpens iron. I was talking to this girl but she was asking for too much time, maybe she’ll come back around when I have time. I gotta lock in. I still have a gpa above 4.0 and I hope it gets higher. Idk Dad this year I’m going to need you more than ever. It’s been tough not having grandpa to hang out with anymore.

I need you to please give my grandma and grandpa a hug. If I keep goin I might end up where you wanted to be >>in the PROS, so I need yall (grandma, grandpa, and you AND EVEN GOD) to stay close and I don’t care what type of sign I have to see. I just need to know you’re near and you already know😤😤. I’m a senior now so I gotta be tough I got no choice. I haven’t committed yet since Grandpa left and all the moving and grieving we had to change things but I know God’s plan is better. Galatians 6:9 I had this fortune cookie that says your hard work is about to pay off in an IMPACTFUL WAY. I want to make a difference and inspire others to never give up, bc I nearly did it happens to all of us. But I’m here I kept the faith. Philippians 4:13

I got a game today, just know I love you. I miss you everyday dad. It hurts still, but that feeling on the field it takes it all away. Until next time. This season is for you and moms. Shes been the soldier she is. Holding it down by herself with the grace of God. You don’t have to worry. I got her. I got a BIG day today in Florida. Here’s a clip from last week, one of my fav big highlights I had.

Please be there with me @ my game today, and protect me. I’ll be waiting for a sign I really need you this year. Love you dad. I hope I make you proud.
