Too many people are willing to sell out Palestine for small perks, whether it is appearances, access, or whatever promises Zohran Mamdani makes. That became clear yesterday. On October 7, while Within Our Lifetime, a Palestinian-led organization in NYC, led thousands in the streets protesting genocide, Zohran attended an Israeli rally for hostages instead. He ignored and undermined our rally.
At the same time, officials from the administration he says he will āfight back againstā were openly inciting against our community because of this rally. Laura Loomer, a far-right activist, called for FBI raids. Stephen Miller, current Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor in the Trump administration, demanded green cards be revoked. Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, and other politicians called for deportation, imprisonment, and retaliation against Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims who speak out. Leo Terrell, head of the DOJās Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, amplified this by tagging Pam Bondi, U.S. Attorney General, and Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State. All of them were signaling alignment with this wave of incitement.
Through all of this, Zohran has said nothing. Not one word defending Palestinians, not a single statement condemning this racist incitement. If he cannot speak up when our communities are being targeted for organizing, what does it mean to call him a āpro-Palestineā mayor? Instead of standing with Within Our Lifetime, the Palestinian-led movement confronting genocide, he sided with those spreading propaganda that justifies it.
zohran got the party nomination, omar was stripped of the party nomination after winning thx to the mayor & his team of well connected donors that had a fit including lisa goodman who threatened to withhold funding if the party didn't reverse endorsement
The Green Party's @DrJillStein on Zohran's win:
"I've spent decades learning not to hold my breath, & I'm still not holding my breath. I think what's hopeful here is that [Zohran] really has a supercharged base, & the hope is that that base will continue to hold his feet to the fire so that he's not going to retrench. I was heartened....But I didn't hear him reference Palestine or Israel...It was mostly a very domestic focused victory speech, & that's kind of understandable, that's usually par for the course, but it does mean that we don't want to say, oh, it's all OK now, we can relax."

Iām just an American citizen who is tired of living under Zionist occupation and would like the NYPD to not have a Tel Aviv office that tells Americans living in New York City what they can and cannot say. Apparently this is too much to ask
Since the ceasefire talks, 38 donors cancelled their monthly subscription. The genocide didnāt end and Palestinians in Gaza still need our material support. Can we get a new 38 people to subscribe monthly?

Andrew Cuomoās recent press conferences inside our masjids have really taken a toll on me. I think they reflect the state of the Ummah today. Masjids are sacred. They are the houses of Allah SWT, the homes of every Muslim. So how are we allowing Andrew Cuomo, a proud Zionist and lawyer to Benjamin Netanyahu, to enter our sacred spaces to advance his campaign?
That isnāt strategy. Thatās selling out your brothers and sisters in Gaza for whatever political capital you think youāll gain. The Muslim youth needs to step up and demand that our masjids vow against being used as platforms for politicians to polish their images or push their agendas.
Our masjids are not campaign stops. They are sanctuaries meant to further our communities Islam, not an individuals election.
This whole conversation shows how, when it comes to practicing Muslims, people on both sides of the political spectrum often end up showing the same Orientalism and racism.
I remember during the Battle of Saif Al-Quds in 2021, when Westerners online said they were āuncomfortableā hearing Muslims chant āAllahu Akbarā at rallies. That discomfort wasnāt random; it showed a deeper unease with Islam showing up in public life. Then two years later, on October 7, the whole world saw that Islam sits at the heart of Gazaās resistance and steadfastness.
Even in the early weeks after October 7, when a video came out of a Palestinian woman being rescued from the rubble, the conversation online became about āthe misogyny of Gazan men,ā all because one of them took off his shirt to cover her head when she tried to hide her hair.
That mindset isnāt solidarity. It drags down every real movement for liberation with its own cultural hangups. These people are anvils, not allies. Do not let them co-opt our cause or water it down to fit their politics.
You guys know Zohran literally hired Zara Rahim and Jeffrey Lerner from Obamaās reelection campaign, as well as Penelope Birnbaum from Kamalaās campaign right like heās not an outsider heās running in the same circles as these people
āFree Palestineā a winning message in New York.
This win belongs to the organizers and communities who refused to compromise. Thatās people power, not party politics.
The peopleās rejection of Zionism has to become an organized force.
Drop your favorite Zionist crash outs from the Mamdani fallout. Watching them realize their ideology is crumbling in real time is honestly the best part.
BDS is the floor of anti-Zionism, which means it must be the minimum demand on a Mamdani administrationāending all municipal level relationships with Israel and full divestment. This is both reasonable and possible
Now that Zohran won, can we finally talk about how his capitulation to Zionist talking points shouldnāt be normalized or encouraged in our movements?
Winning an election doesnāt make those concessions any less harmful.
It's extremely bleak that the right is more in opposition to their politicians allegiance with Israel than supposed leftist who are redefining Zionism to justify their politicians building coalitions with fascist.
What if we organized a community canvassing fundraiser to support families in Gaza? We could go door to door collecting donations and distributing zines for Palestine. Would people be down to do this in NYC? Like 4 hours of coordinated effort for a family?
Yesterday, November 2nd (Balfour Day), two pro-Palestine prisoners, Qesser Zuhrah and Amu Gib, began a hunger strike inside British prisons. @Prisoners4Pal
Today, Heba Muraisi joined them, marking the first rolling hunger strike in a British prison in decades.
Qesser has been held since November 2024 over the alleged Elbit Systems raid in Bristol, Amu since July 2025 for actions at RAF Brize Norton opposing weapons transfers to Gaza genocide, and Heba for allegedly damaging Israelās largest weapons producer.
None have stood trial.
Since the governmentās proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation, mistreatment has intensified. Restrictions on communication, confiscation of personal items, and repeated solitary confinement.
The hunger strikers are demanding bail, the right to a fair trial, access to mail and for Palestine Action to be deproscribed.
