(1/3) Happy to share my first review together with @AOri_Lab on organelle dysfunction in aging and age-related diseases!
Are you curious about the impact aging has on mitochondria and lysosomes?

🚨New Paper Alert🚨Explore our latest work on the Lysosomal BrainAtlas, now available on bioRxiv! This comprehensive resource maps lysosomal proteins in specific brain cell types and identifies SLC45A1 as a novel neuron-specific lysosomal sugar transporter https://t.co/NW5i3KMxXW
@ali_ghoochani Here, we uncover the key roles of transporter SLC45A1 as a novel regulator of both lysosomal acidity and sugar export revealing previously unknown mechanisms of cell-type specific lysosomal functions, relevant to neurological diseases
In this study co-led with @ali_ghoochani, we used LysoIP & high-res mass spectrometry to create the first lysosomal protein atlas across neurons, astrocytes, microglia & oligodendrocytes. A breakthrough for understanding cell-type-specific lysosomal functions in the brain!
Congratulations on the outstanding publication regarding a potential therapeutic approach for Batten disease, a devastating childhood neurodegenerative disorder. Find out more👉https://t.co/Ro0szy4NOd

Thanks to the @abu_remaileh lab and @Stanford_ChEMH for having me these past months and to the @DAAD_Germany and @LeibnizFLI for making this possible. It has been an outstanding experience! Bitter sweet to go back, I will miss the people and this place for sure.
What a day to be at @Stanford celebrating with @CarolynBertozzi for winning the Nobel prize, together with her lab, the @Abu_Remaileh lab and Stanford ChEMH. Congrats!
