🎲 ELEVENSES: THE TEA PARTY THAT DEFEATED THE CLOCK ☕🍰

Tom, Emily, Vince our Michelangelo, and Stormin’ Norman squeezed Elevenses into the dying moments of Thursday Party Bus. Unfortunately, the taxi arrived before the score sheet, resulting in the rarest of board gaming outcomes: everybody drew and the game itself won. What we played was fantastic. Tea was stolen, cards were swapped, Elevenses cards were hidden, and suspicion spread faster than jam on a scone. Vince handled the rules, which proved easy to learn but looked to have plenty of depth. Lots of laughs, plenty of skullduggery, and a unique theme that grew on us as we played. The only real mistake? Not starting it earlier. Rematch required.

🎣 FISHY BUSINESS ON THE PARTY BUS

After Mysterium, the Party Bus sailed straight into Sounds Fishy. Vince “Michelangelo” absolutely dominated with 50 points, ahead of Beck (32), Steve (30), Tom (29), Stormin’ Norman (28), Emily (26) and Athena (21). Vince achieved the dream score by uncovering every Red Herring and leaving only the Kipper. Beck immediately tried to copy the feat and nearly drove herself crazy trying. Newcomer Steve had a hilarious panic moment when his answer failed to arrive on time, while Athena had a similar bluffing wobble. Emily remained the politest fish inspector in history, always asking players to “please flip your fish.” Stormin’ Norman was spectacularly tricked by the correct answer being “007,” leading to laughter levels usually requiring safety equipment. Easy to teach, hilarious to play, and another huge Party Bus success.

🏛️ Ruins: Late Night Treasure Hunting

With only three diehard gardeners left at Mystery Box Tuesday, Tom, Vince and Stormin’ Norman descended into Ruins for its first outing. Congratulations to Tom for taking the win, followed by Vince in second and Stormin’ Norman in third. The game impressed immediately with its clever card-crafting system, allowing players to upgrade and claim cards for future use. Norman’s biggest lesson? Claim powerful cards early! Halfway through the game it suddenly felt familiar, and after checking the designer, the mystery was solved: John D. Clair was behind it. No wonder it felt so good. Plenty of laughs, plenty of “I wanted that card!” moments, and poor Vince was left unsleeving all the crafted cards when the taxi arrived. Ruins is a keeper.

🎣 SOUNDS FISHY: REELING IN THE RED HERRINGS

Mystery Box Tuesday rolled into Sounds Fishy with five remaining gardeners: Stormin’ Norman, Mark “Chappo” Chapman, Tom, Vince, and Tony the Maltese Falcon. Players attempted to spot fake answers while avoiding the one correct “Blue Fish” answer. Bluffing faces were everywhere, Chappo embraced his inner poker champion, Vince and Tony accidentally backed the wrong fish a few times, and Stormin’ Norman’s conservative point-banking strategy paid off with victory on 12 points ahead of Chappo (7), Tom (6), Vince (5), and Tony (4). Easy to learn, packed with laughs, and full of suspiciously convincing nonsense. A fantastic Mystery Box filler and a keeper for social gaming nights.

🎲 FLIP 7 WITH A VENGEANCE: THE NIGHT OF THE TWO T’s

Seven gardeners entered. Tom (228) and Tony the Maltese Falcon (218) emerged as the table’s most wanted. Stormin’ Norman grabbed third (117), Will with One L survived Chappo’s relentless negative-point campaign, Holly stole points and hopes, and Vince Michelangelo pushed his luck into a respectable cardboard crater. Hero moment went to Tom for surviving a table-wide dogpile and still winning. Lucky moment went to Tony who survived a terrifying four-card forced draw. Funniest moment? Norman confidently declaring the last card couldn’t be a 13… before flipping a 13. Easy to learn, brutal to play, full of laughter, finger-pointing and medieval skullduggery. Another Mystery Box Tuesday Classic.
