Dear Obidients,
Kindly leave Atiku/Amaechi and ADC out of your mouths, and we will leave NDC and Obi/Kwankwaso out of ours too.
We all have a common opponent, so let’s focus our energy there instead of fighting one another. After all, the enemy of our enemy should be a friend. 🤝😀
Among their generation of governors, HE Rotimi Amaechi distinguished himself with a broader national profile than HE Peter Obi. Amaechi served as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, with Peter Obi as his deputy, demonstrating the confidence his colleagues reposed in his leadership.
Amaechi also built stronger national appeal through his political engagements and leadership roles. It is worth acknowledging that Peter Obi’s emergence on the national political stage was significantly elevated by Atiku Abubakar’s decision to choose him as his running mate in the 2019 presidential election.

Troops of 12 Brigade, in collaboration with Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Hybrid Forces, have rescued four kidnapped victims during a clearance operation in Lokoja Local Government Area.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out at about 11:30 p.m. on July 2 following intelligence on kidnapping activities at a Ruga community in Obajana.
According to the sources, the troops deployed from Oshokoshoko made contact with the suspected kidnappers, leading to a gun battle in which one suspected terrorist was neutralised, while others fled into the surrounding area.
The troops subsequently exploited the terrorists’ withdrawal route and successfully rescued four kidnapped victims unharmed.
During the operation, the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with one round of 7.62mm Special ammunition.
The rescued victims were reunited with their families, while the recovered ammunition has been taken into military custody for further investigation.
Military sources said efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and dismantle criminal networks responsible for kidnappings in the area.

My Wife Secretly Applied for a UK Visa Without Telling Me
I am 39 years old, and my wife is 36. We have been married for ten years and have two wonderful children. We both work, and by God's grace, our family has been doing well.
My wife has a younger sister who has lived in the UK for several years. They are very close and speak almost every day.
A few days ago, my wife came home looking excited. She handed me her passport and said, "I have something to tell you."
When I opened it, I saw that she had been granted a UK visitor visa.
I was surprised.
I asked her when she applied, and she calmly told me she had started the application process several months ago.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
She had filled out the forms, attended her biometric appointment, submitted all the required documents, and completed the entire process without mentioning a single word to me.
She then said she wanted to use her annual leave to spend a few weeks with her younger sister in the UK.
I asked her why she never discussed it with me before applying.
She said she didn't want to tell me until she was sure the visa had been approved because she didn't want either of us to be disappointed if it was refused.
I told her that wasn't the issue.
My concern is that we are husband and wife. I believe major decisions like travelling to another country should be discussed before any plans are made, not after everything has already been arranged.
She insists that she wasn't hiding anything from me. According to her, it was only a visit, and she planned to tell me as soon as the visa was approved.
Now we cannot agree.
She still wants to travel, but I feel hurt that she made such an important decision without involving me from the beginning.
Please, what should I do? Should I allow my wife to go on the trip, or should I insist that she postpone it because she made the decision without discussing it with me first? If you were in my position, how would you handle this situation? What advice do you have for us?
NDLEA nabs UK-bound grandma with 13kg cocaine hidden in plantain peels
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 67-year-old Nigerian-British woman, Mary Yetunde Barek, for attempting to smuggle 13 kilograms of cocaine concealed in fake plantain peels through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
The UK-based caregiver was intercepted on Sunday, June 28, while preparing to board a Virgin Atlantic flight to London. NDLEA officers discovered 31 wraps of cocaine, weighing 13kg, expertly packaged to resemble fresh plantains. She reportedly admitted ownership of the illicit consignment.
