A broad range of skilled trades are at the heart of the AI economy. Through our Datacenter Academy with Ivy Tech Community College, @microsoft is helping Hoosiers build in-demand skills that strengthen Indiana's future. @IvyTechCC https://t.co/sNKkEmtX6H
Today we broke ground in La Porte, Indiana, alongside Mayor Tom Dermody, local leaders, and community members who made this possible. This marks more than the start of a new datacenter. It represents the future of this community and our commitment to being a good neighbor.
Beyond the thousands of construction jobs, our first phase will create more than 600 permanent Microsoft jobs. It will grow local tax revenues to support schools and the broader community for generations. Our campus will be designed with the latest energy efficient and closed-loop liquid cooling technologies to conserve natural resources. And we will enhance the surrounding ecosystem to strengthen flood protection and natural habitat.
La Porte means "the door." Together, we hope to help open a door to what's next, and to be the kind of neighbor that makes a community proud to call @Microsoft part of its hometown.
Great to join @Axios "Behind the Curtain" for an honest conversation about the anxiety recent grads are feeling about AI. Our message? Technology will change, but you can stand firmly and speak loudly for values that are timeless.
@Microsoft's job is, and always has been, to empower workers – that’s what we were born to do. Thanks for having me, @mikeallen: https://t.co/zFtVmYxBwt
This year’s graduates are sending a clear message about AI and jobs. We should listen. They’re reminding us that AI should serve people, not replace them. @Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and organization to achieve more. That means helping people build the skills to use technology to create new opportunities. If we’re not doing that, we’re not doing our job.

It was great to sit down with former UK Prime Minister @RishiSunak to talk about the Mythos Moment, named for @AnthropicAI's latest model, and what it means for cybersecurity and AI policy.
We discussed the real security challenges AI presents, and the responsibility policymakers have to help these tools better serve people.

Our newest AI Diffusion Report is out, and I sat down with Juan M. Lavista Ferres on Tools and Weapons to dig into what the first few months of 2026 are telling us. For the first time, we're looking at AI usage county by county across the United States, and some of the findings may surprise you. Link in bio to watch the full episode. @Microsoft
This executive order is an important step toward advancing innovation while protecting the security of the American public. We welcome this effort by the Administration. https://t.co/f58n9EILCL
One of the things I'm proudest of in Quincy is what these careers have opened for people, both at @Microsoft and alongside us. Local students can train through the state's first high school data center technician program, keeping careers, and families, close to home.
I've often said that building data centers means we're going to need a lot more electricians. Mike Stetner's story in Quincy, Washington is the perfect example. What was once a 5-person team, grew to nearly 500 people at its peak. @Microsoft https://t.co/v3u6FDbIkw
Twenty years ago, @Microsoft broke ground on our first data center in Quincy, Washington. At a time when so many small towns have been shrinking, Quincy has grown, and the partnership behind that story is one worth telling. Watch how a farm town in Central Washington helped build the cloud, and built a thriving future of its own.
AI is changing the way people add value at work. This @Microsoft report found that instead of doing routine tasks, people are spending more time setting direction, defining quality, and applying human judgment. @Microsoft365
@politico I rarely comment on a story like this, but I will here. In my view, Sean Cairncross is the type of capable leader the nation needs on cyber-security. He's a quick study. He's calm, thoughtful, decisive, & works well with the private sector. I'm grateful he's leading this work.
The science of AI evaluation is too important to advance alone. With CAISI in the U.S. and @AISecurityInst in the U.K., we're pairing government expertise with @Microsoft's frontline experience to better understand the risks of advanced AI and put stronger protections in place for the people who use it. @NIST https://t.co/cyLdQiDByO
Fifteen years ago, the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship was created to help remove barriers to higher education for students across our state. Built through a strong public-private partnership, including @Microsoft and @Boeing’s early leadership, WSOS combines scholarships, mentorship, and career pathways to become an engine for economic mobility for more than 12,500 Washington students. @OppScholarship
Drawing on our unique, global view of AI usage, the @Microsoft AI for Good Lab’s latest AI Diffusion report highlights that AI is moving from trial to daily utility. Growth is surging in markets like Japan and South Korea as local-language capabilities improve, while disparities between the Global North and South continue to deepen.
