Another official visit season in the books. Grateful for every player, family, coach, and colleague I’ve had the opportunity to connect with along the way.
As I begin this next chapter at K-State.
The mission remains the same: build meaningful relationships, develop young men, and bring championship-caliber people to our Program.
Now it’s time to get to work. #LTSU #LGA

BOOM! Bra’jon Melancon is a CAT! Rated as the #14 player in the state of Louisiana (247) and the #13 ATH (Rivals) this is another big get. A versatile player, Melancon will play CB in MHK. K-State beats a dozen schools including Arkansas, Houston, TT and many others. #EMAW27😈

Class of 27 WR
Bra’Jon Melancon-@BrajonMelancon
6-2/165
Maringouin, LA
He is a high-upside, versatile defensive back prospect with elite athletic traits, ball skills, length, and production on both sides of the ball. He has a long, lean, explosive frame that projects well for cornerback (or safety/hybrid) at the Power 4 level.
• Length + physicality: Uses long arms to jam/press receivers at the line, disrupt timing, and contest jump balls. He has a “knack for physicality” and delivers “crushing hits.”
• Ball skills & playmaking: Excellent hands and instincts, high-points throws, tracks the ball well, and produces turnovers. Goal-oriented production (aimed for 6 INTs in a season) and demonstrated with multiple picks, including pick-sixes.
• Speed & explosiveness: Closes quickly on underneath routes, runs with vertical threats, and has recovery burst. Track speed translates to mirroring fast WRs.
• Coverage technique: Strong in man coverage; uses length to stay sticky without grabbing. Good hip fluidity and transition for a tall corner.
• Instincts/IQ: High football IQ; reads routes, anticipates, and executes game plans. Leader who communicates and elevates teammates.
• Versatility & special teams: Return man experience (multiple kickoff/punt return TDs) shows vision and elusiveness. Can contribute immediately on special teams.
