As the Senate Agriculture Committee moves to markup, we are hopeful that there will be an opportunity to include a cost-share delay that extends more time to more states to prepare without disrupting food access for the children, seniors, veterans, and families who depend on SNAP.

We give thanks for Food for Peace, the United States’ flagship international food aid program. But we also grieve recent changes to the program that will leave some of the world’s most acutely hungry people—including communities in Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, and the West Bank and Gaza—at risk of losing access to vital assistance.
