Walrus is becoming the default storage layer for @datafdn and Trace, the onchain registry for rights-cleared AI training data.

Trace records where AI training data came from and who owns it.

Walrus stores the original file, keeping it tamper-proof and accessible only to licensed buyers.

Trace has already registered more than 250M contributions and adds over 3M receipts a day, from apps that license data to frontier AI labs.

The next generation of AI will be trained on data from people, making provenance a procurement requirement. Walrus and @SuiNetwork make that provenance verifiable.

Sui Foundation has just invested $30M into @datafdn!!

But this is more than just a funding announcement.

DATA is moving from its own Layer 1 to the Sui Network stack, allowing the team to focus on scaling Trace, its AI training data product, which has already recorded over 250M receipts.

The move brings DATA into an ecosystem built to support its next phase of growth, with Walrus serving as the default storage layer for DATA Foundation apps.

AI labs will also be able to source real-world, rights-cleared training data with verifiable provenance.

Beyond the investment, @theSYlee, founder of DATA Network and CEO of PIP Labs, will join Sui Foundation as a Strategic Advisor.

And $DATA remains the token of the protocol.

DATA is doubling down on its vision, with a stronger ecosystem, less infrastructure overhead, and significant institutional backing.
