Steven Spielberg was just 24 when he directed the pilot of COLUMBO, but he was already showing serious visual storytelling chops: the opening shot glides in from the murderer approaching to the victim in one move.
RIP the legendary Tom Stoppard. Among his more famous achievements, he radically rewrote Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade (under the pen-name Barry Watson), adding most of the thrilling beats and hilarious gags.
One of my favourites: the cut to Brody, after being hyped up as a master of spycraft, lost and blithering in a Turkish market.
Christopher Lloyd tries on the Judge Doom costume from WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT for the first time since 1988 🔥
He said director Robert Zemeckis created subtle hints that Doom was a tune by constantly having his coat flowing indoors, lighting effects that would white out his eye glass lenses, and overly perfect teeth.
Easily one of the greatest movie villains of all time.
@JamesGunn using Krypto to perfectly illustrate who #Superman is at his core was a stroke of pure genius. Still can’t get over how much I love it.
“He’s just a dog”
“Yeah, he’s not even a very good one. But…”
Chefs kiss. And a slow clap.
"Yeah, he's not even a very good one. But he's out there alone.. and probably scared"
David delivered that line so genuinely and earnestly, makes me tear up just thinking about it
I let it all sink in for 24hrs, and yes #Superman is awesome, Clark and Lois are standouts for good reason, but what I can’t stop thinking about is Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor. Best Lex I’ve ever seen.
While I would hesitate calling Zodiac my favorite Fincher flick, it is the one that rotates onto my playlist the most, so maybe I should. I think about it constantly. It truly is brilliant and mesmerizing.
David Fincher’s incessant attention to detail is one of the reasons I never stop revisiting Zodiac. Every shot matters. Every cut, every edit says something. There’s not a single wasted stroke from Fincher in this entire film. Fincher gives this film a texture I can’t let go of.
