The government scrapped plans last Friday that would have allowed large numbers of badgers to be culled for at least a decade and it is set to launch a much needed fresh review of the policy. The policy is ineffective. Farmers can now turn to focused methods to remove b TB from the national herd that are both effective and focused on the clever bug and enemy “Mycobacterium bovis”.
