🆘🆘 BENNIE BABY (ID 254205), 6 YO, FEMALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an agency on 5/10/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 6/27/26
➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 46 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ BENNIE BABY IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and while she is social, she is prone to overstimulation and will swat hard at handlers when approached for interactions. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! Initially when the handler approaches, Bennie Baby vocalizes with wide eyes and dilated pupils and swats hard towards the assessor through the kennel door. She is softly spoken to, and she turns to lay in the middle of the kennel, fur displaying piloerection down her back and laying down facing the back wall, engaging in displacement grooming. The assessor gives her time to settle before returning for further interaction. Bennie Baby is standing at the front of the kennel, pupils dilated. She is softly spoken to, and she leans her body against the kennel bars to solicit attention. When the kennel door is opened, she leans forward to head bunt the assessor's hand, allowing and leaning into all petting. Pickup is not attempted to avoid potential overstimulation. Bennie Baby is a sensitive, social girl who appreciates attention and interactions on her own terms. She appears a bit stressed in the shelter and may need time to warm up to a new home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

These four little cow kittens were part of a colony that had grown out of control. Their feeder cares for them very much, but without access to affordable veterinary care, they quickly multiplied. Fortunately we were able to collect them all!.

Tiger Blue is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat / scratch / bite / is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. 😿🙏😿🙏😿🙏

➡️ 54 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ FLAMENCO IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association and appears likely to be under socialized. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
What my friends at ACC say about me: Flamenco tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. It could be with you! A volunteer writes: Flamenco was brought to us with a great deal of love and care but without much information. We don't know his favorite treats or toys and we don't know if he prefers watching squirrels or birds from his favorite window perches but in spite of our sincerest efforts, Flamenco hasn't felt much like filling in the gaps. We do know, however, that Flamenco's been picking up the pieces as he tries to navigate the shelter. He was brought to us from a home with many other cats and these substantial changes have left Flamenco a bit confused and unsure on where to put all of his love, but it has to go somewhere. We're thinking with a patient and loving family, he'll explain who he is and become the cat he's meant to be. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have lived with cats in my previous home. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. A volunteer writes: Eleven stretched himself out for a nap in a position I can't quite describe except to say it looked uncomfortable, but that's a cat for you. I hoped Eleven would be ok with some pets and treats, so I quietly opened the door only for him to tell me that he absolutely wasn't ok with that. A fluffy cheeked gentleman with brilliant and inquiring eyes, he regarded me from the top of his den and said in no uncertain terms that petting and playtime were off the table. Fair as Eleven came to us from a home with many other cats and we don't know much about his life before, but we know he isn't so sure about the shelter. He'd love a little chance to become the cat he's meant to and hopes you'll offer him that. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

✨ Shimmer update ✨ Shimmer is doing amazing and is currently staying with our founder, Amanda, while she continues to recover. One of the biggest struggles before was getting her to eat and gain weight, so we are absolutely thrilled to report that she is now scarfing down food.
