If presented for a role with two candidates of equal qualification, pick the one with less charisma. They would have had to work much harder to get to where they are, relying on skill and determination, not personality and charm.
Many of us would argue England has plenty of home-grown coaches and managers. Many of whom are never given a chance to progress up the ladder, because ex-pros occupy a revolving door of failure.

Ex-pros also fit the description. They look like football, they sound like football. Their image is way more polished than a coach who is trying to make it in the game, without a background in the game. This is the "Charisma Trap."
