British poultry is a cornerstone of our food security. Fair, functional trade is crucial to the sustainability of domestic production.
We are calling for progress towards a deal that recognises UK standards, the uniqueness of UK-EU trade & supports our long term food security.
The focus on poultry farming as the primary culprit of river pollution is lazy and distracts from the multiple factors at play here.
We welcome scrutiny - but it must be honest, proportionate, and solution-oriented.
The problem with this story is that it treats all farms as equal - but not all pollution is created equally👇
BPC members are unsubsidised and highly regulated, producing safe and affordable food for the nation.

Linking our sector to land-based payments on diversified farms distorts the facts and misleads public opinion.
