Editor, writer and, apparently, filmmaker (see Granite Orpheus, featured at 2026 Mill City Film Festival and MONIFF). Thinks multiversally, acts subatomically.
On CBS Mornings they are discussing with parents of grade-schoolers how to use the Cornell "r*pe-orgy" to talk to kids about "consent and peer pressure."
13th century Italian city terrorized by a wolf. Kills not just livestock but humans too. St Francis decides his help is needed. Goes to meet the wolf. Finds him, sees fangs, gets charged. "Come hither, Brother Wolf; I command thee, in the name of Christ, neither to harm me nor anybody else.” Wolf slows. Comes to Francis' feet. Lays down. Francis offers deal: wolf must vow never to eat man or livestock; in return the Gubians will feed him. Wolf nods. Francis asks the wolf to promise. Wolf places his paw in Francis' extended hand and they shake on it. Both enter the city and Francis informs the residents of the agreement. Wolf lives its final years in Gubio. Citizens feed him, grow to like him, and mourn his death when it comes. Church of St Francis of the Peace is built on the site where the wolf was buried. Many years later, in 1872, renovations are being made and the crews find a very old skeleton of a large wolf!
Ora pro nobis, St Francis, friend to animals!
I got my first job with a local newspaper because I had NOT been a journalism student. The wizened, old, former-Marine editor swore (he swore a lot) that he couldn't find a real newspaper guy in any of the graduates he interviewed and said they had all been "ruined" by the "advocacy journalism" that was being taught. That was nearly 40 years ago.

@CaraCastronuova You can carefully parse the real, obvious differences and then decide about the death penalty for killers without abandoning the innocent beings awaiting birth.
Carefully preserved in my father's files, passed along to me by his second wife after his death, I found the letter I'd written to him after my unexpected "born-again" conversion to Christ. Even after decades as a writer and editor, those stationery pages still contained the most important, heartfelt words I ever set to paper.
