Earlier this year I gave a tech talk about our migration from Spark to Clickhouse for our data warehouse.

Since @Bulletxyz is so optimised for speed, waiting seconds for JVM to execute queries and needing to run slow hourly batch ETL became a real friction point. Moving to OLAP was the natural choice for real time apps like ours, and now you can feel the speed of our APIs (most historical queries execute in a fraction of a second).

Furthermore this improved the freshness of data in our frontend from up to an hour (due to hourly ETL from jobs) to a matter of seconds thanks to rewriting our whole indexing pipeline with Rust and Kafka, and leveraging Clickhouse's materialised views for near real time transformations.
