It was exactly 7 days between the injunction and resolution of what was a very complicated legal (and human) issue. Texas Tech never sued anybody or did anything but follow the rules and the law. But yet, in that 7 days, certain idiot Big 12 coaches and athletic directors, who had no idea what was going on, ran their mouths just because they wanted to take a cheap shot at Texas Tech. Most of the conference was great, and kept things private.

But I will repeat what I’ve said several times… We remember who the jackwagons were, and we will give them what they have coming to them.

Today, I joined Governor @GregAbbott_TX and Senator @electcharles in Lubbock to hear directly from West Texans about how we can create greater opportunity for Texans while enabling them to hold onto more of their hard-earned dollars.

The next legislative session will have a strong focus on affordability, focused on combating the rising costs we’re seeing not just in Texas, but across the nation. Governor Abbott and lawmakers are already working on solutions to deliver the significant property tax relief, cut regulations so businesses can grow and hire more Texans, make college and workforce training more affordable and accessible, and bring down healthcare and insurance expenses while giving Texans more choices.

We’ve made progress, but there’s more work to do. By working together, we’ll keep Texas the best place to live, work and raise a family. #txlege

It was an honor to be back home in Lubbock today for the dedication of the West Texas Veterans Cemetery. I was proud to stand with so many local leaders and fellow West Texans as we honored the service and sacrifice of those who defended our nation and our values.

This cemetery will be a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who answered the call to serve and a place where their families, friends and communities can honor their memory.

Thank you to everyone who came together to make this cemetery a reality, including @DeptVetAffairs, @TexasVLB, Commissioner @DrBuckinghamTX, Senator @electcharles, Rep. @CarlTepper and all our local, state and federal partners.

West Texans can be proud to see the American flag flying high over this beautiful and sacred place.

Great turnout in Bryan today for Rep. @PaulDysonTX, with conservatives from across the region coming together to support his re-election campaign for HD 14.

What a day in Stephenville!

Great to join Chancellor @Glenn_Hegar, fellow members and local leaders in supporting Rep. @ShelbySlawson in her re-election campaign for HD 59, and to kick off the first weekend of Tarleton State University’s 2026 football season. After showing our Tarleton spirit at the tailgate, I had the honor of taking the field for the coin toss ahead of the matchup with Prairie View A&M.

Tarleton is a major part of what makes this region thrive—building a strong workforce, fueling economic growth and innovation, and creating opportunities for Texans. Shelby has been a champion for Tarleton and the entire community throughout her time in the Texas House.

Our flight had to divert back to Lubbock, so unfortunately we weren’t able to make it to San Antonio.

Texas mourns the loss of Dolly Parton, an American original whose life was a testament to faith, family, hard work, and the power of a generous heart.

That wisdom shaped the woman she became: a global icon, a remarkable entrepreneur, and an inspiration to women everywhere.

Dolly’s extraordinary talent brought joy to millions, but her humanitarian spirit is her greatest legacy. Through her passionate commitment to literacy, she opened the door to books, learning, and brighter futures for countless children and families.

There will never be another Dolly Parton. Her unmistakable style, sparkling rhinestones, radiant smile, and voice of an angel will never be extinguished.

President Trump has ordered flags to be lowered throughout the United States for one week in honor of this beloved legend. May she rest in peace.
